About this Cook
Hi, I live in small town USA. I love to cook and share. My very fussy family won't eat leftovers, even when I call them planned overs, so off they go to an unsuspecting victim. Nobody ever says no, and I always get my serving dishes back. If you think your dishes will not be returned, buy extras at thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets. I have people save plastic take a way trays and reuse them. I these are the ones I always get back. No one I know says ooooo a plastic tray I must have it for my very own. Food Network ROCKS!
My favorite things to cook
I'm still sitting here trying to narrow my options...REQUESTS! I'm all about that!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Taking over my mother's kitchen for huge holiday feasts! I even clean up the mess so she can relax and enjoy time with her great grandkids.
My cooking triumphs
Getting a very picky woman at work to say I'm the best cook in the place. Humm I know how the others cook, I'm not sure if she meant it as a compliment to me or a dig at our co-workers.
My cooking tragedies
Let's just say it involved a #10 tin can of potatoes, a holiday, and my daughter's new boyfriend.

Mom's Ginger Snaps
I made these cookies for Christmas last year, they were fantastic, CRISPY, CRUNCHY, gingery goodness! These cookies are a true snap. I got many compliments on the cookies that made it to the gift trays.... cookie gremlins in my kitchen. The only thing I changed was pressing them with a cinnamon sugar coated flat bottom glass. They spread into a wonderfully large cookie, and looked so beautiful.

Chocolate Marshmallow Frosting
I found this frosting to be more like a ganache. I was not fluffy and ran off my cake, and puddled around the base. Maybe I did not beat it long enough, I would have beat it longer but I dropped the mixer on the floor and it refused to function again. I do believe the 3/4 cup of conf. sugar is a typo. I used 3 to 4 cups of confectioner's sugar. It had a tiny bit of grittiness, I found the texture to be off putting. Oh well I will try it again and beat the out of it.

Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce
This recipe is very good, but with BBQ sauce there is always room for improvement.
