Broccoli Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
Wow! Too funny! As I come to write a review, I notice that the recipe asked for THREE (3) cans of soup, but I only used ONE (1) can. OMG...! I can't imagine if I used what it asked for (3 cans)! I used cream of "mushroom" nonetheless and ONE (1) can was plenty with the amount mayo, curry powder and lemon juice it called for. Would have been way too soupy if I used the 3 cans it asked for. It was perfect and incredibly good! Husband hummed which means its REALLY REALLY good! - Instead of boiling the broccoli, I steamed the broccoli. - Instead of using chicken breasts, I boiled chicken legs and thighs then removed skin and bones. Instead of cutting into pieces, I just pulled apart pieces. - Steamed white rice and served the casserole over the rice.

Pork Chop and Feta Skillet

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
Wow! This was fantastic. I actually took all the ingredients (just one lemon tho and more olive oil than recipe asks for) and blended them in a zipblock and let the porkchops marinate in the bag for a couple of hours. Then I cooked the dinner according to the recipe and added all the ingredients all over again to the meat in the pan (less one lemon). I minced the garlic, rosemary and basil and it turned out like a pesto, then rubbed it on top of meat. My husband raved about this meal as did I! It was sooo good. I think the marinating the pork made a huge difference!

Orange Rice Medley

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
This dish was good.... Not "oh my god - good" but, good. I made it for a Hawaiin theme party I went to. Noone raved about it....but, that could be because everyone was already pretty liquored up. Would I make this again? I doubt it. Don't get me wrong, it was good...maybe for a family dinner...but not for a party.

Red and Green Christmas Jalapeno Jelly

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I am so excited! I never made jelly before..and was very pestimistic on how the results would come out; especially because I didn't do any of the bathing or whatever y'all do with the jars... I just followed the recipe as is...and it worked. I have to say though, that I couldn't find liquid pectin so I just added the granulated powdered kind (a sml box) and it still turned out GREAT!!! I had a ton mini red-hot chili peppers that I grew in my garden and had no idea what to do with them.... so I decided to do this!!! I used red chili peppers and red bell peppers! OMG! Soooo good.. Can't wait to make more and save them for holiday gifts!!!!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2005
Very Good! I didn't have any green peppers on hand so I added a few jarred jalapeno pepper rings and chopped them up(approx. a tspn)and added them to the pan which gave it a nice bite. I also felt as though it was missing a little something at the very end so, I decided to add a tad more of ketchup and a teaspoon of pure 100% maple syrup. That was the ticket!!!! After that, it was soooooooo good! I give this recipe 4 stars for what it tasted like before I added the maple syrup, but I'd give it 5 stars afterwards!!!!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2005
I made this mostly for my husband, cuz he loves this kind of stuff. I asked him to rate it from 1-5. He gave it a 5! Very spicey, but very good!....we of course used a slotted spoon. Looking forward to the leftovers which there is plenty of. I used half water and half beef broth.

Slow Cooker Chicken with Mushroom Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
I give this 4 stars. Because I give it 3 stars and my husband gives it 5 stars. That averages out to be 4 stars. I found it to be a bit reach. Funny how some raters found it to be bland. Maybe because I added a couple pinches of rosemary. Used fresh onions and mushrooms as well.

Crisp Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
REEAALLYY GOOD COOKIES! I only added the coconut thinking that the chocolate-chips would have made them too sweet. But they weren't too sweet at all! They were wonderful!!! I think I will try adding the chips next time just to see, not that it is necessary, just want to see the difference! Anyway, super tastey cookies and great texture too! (Recipe only made a little over 2 dozen for me. Maybe I made the cookies larger than expected.)

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
Very Good Cookies! I was hoping that they wouldn't be as dry as so many other peanut butter cookies, but they were. Nonetheless, the were very delicious, besides.... we dunk our cookies in this house anyway, so that took care to the dryness. 4 stars to Mrs. Siggs! (OH! A good tip I figured out, while criss-crossing my fork on the cookies. I found that the fork stuck to the dough, so I dunked my fork in water every third cookie and it took care of it!)
