Magic Cookie Bars II

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
I made these for a bake sale and they sold out quickly. I used a couple of the suggestions previously mentioned. I added a little more graham cracker and mixed it with the butter until it just held together. I used 1 14 oz. can of condensed milk and cut the chips back to 1/2 a cup each. I wanted to cut some of the sweetness. I will make these again.

Hurricane Cake

Very good cake. Easy to make and good flavors. I cut the butter on the bottom of the pan and cut back on some of the sugar.

I didn't make any changes and won't need to when I make it again. Easy recipe with big flavor. Served with rice. Excellent meal.

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
One of our favorite soup recipes. I've used spinach and kale, it works well with both. We smoke our own hot sausage and this is a perfect way to use it.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
Excellent recipe! It was easy to double for a larger crowd. We cut the butter back since we doubled the recipe and the flavor was great. I would also recommend making the sauce last. I prepared the chicken with an egg wash and bread crumbs since I had to do it earlier in the afternoon. We served it with the angel hair pasta we had on hand. I'll make this one again and again.

Zucchini Pineapple Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
I made a dozen large muffins with this recipe and was very happy with the results. I liked the flavor and the texture. I cut back the oil and I'll try the suggestion of substituting applesauce next time.

Cheese and Sausage Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
We enjoyed this. It's a great way to use up zucchini. I used what cheese I had on hand, mostly cheddar, and cut the microwave cooking time down to 3 minutes. I'll make this again and recommend it to my friends.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
Nice crispy topping. It has a nice subtle texture difference from a traditional cobbler. I used Splenda for the sugar and it tasted great. I got a lot of compliments on it at the church retreat.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
Easy recipe, will do again, but I'll be more careful not to over cook the chops. Luckily, because of the sauce they didn't dry out. I ommited the sugar. I thought the Coke would make it sweet enough.

Butternut Squash with Onions and Pecans

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
Good easy recipe. After I peeled my squash I baked it in the oven while I toasted the pecans. Nice alternative from a sweeter squash dish.

Southwestern Roasted Corn Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
Loved this! We used roasted corn from a previous dinner. I added a can of black beans and chopped jalapeno. Next time I'm throwing in diced avacado. I think it'll go great with the dressing.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
Loved this cake! I didn't change a thing. I cut the icing recipe in half. I had the feeling the cake wouldn't need a thick layer of frosting. I made it while my Mom was visiting and she was intrigued with placing the entire hot cake in the freezer. It will give her something to tell her friends I'm sure.

Excellent! Added a little garlic as suggested in the other comments. We loved them. It was surprising that the darker sprouts tasted better.

Breakfast Trifle

Easy recipe, tasted good, we really liked it. I needed a diabetic breakfast recipe for weekend company. The only thing I'll change next time is I'll cut the bread in bite size squares.
