Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2015
Added can of kidney beans, can of corn. Also sauteed chopped red pepper with onions at the beginning. Pretty good taste. I like that I'm getting less fat and calories with ground turkey.

Easy Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
We love broccoli, but I think family was tired of the usual sauteed broccoli with garlic. This salad has the perfect tang and family appreciated a new recipe. Thank you, Chef John.

Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2013
We ended up not adding the rice, and just strained out the liquid. Delicious in tacos with chopped onions and avocados. Plenty of leftovers and had them the next day with Puerto Rican rice. Delicious and so easy to make!

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
My husband said these ribs were the best he's ever had. The kids were licking their fingers. We found that the ribs were less greasy after they were boiled. The bbq sauce turned out delicious as well.

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
I made this twice and I got rave reviews from husband and kids. The second time around, I made 1 lb of spaghetti and kids and husband scarfed it up without leaving me seconds :( This is a keeper!

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
This is one of the easiest recipes and the golden mushroom soup makes the tastiest gravy. I serve it over rice and my whole family asks for seconds. I add extra slices of mushrooms and mix in a 1/2 cup of water to the gravy prior to baking. This is a regular at our house. Thank you for sharing this quick and easy recipe!

Easy Salsa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
Truly easy to make and so moist and tasty! Normally, I don't like meatloaf, but this had so much flavor. I used ground turkey and added an extra 1/4 cup of salsa and a tablespoon of diced chiles and the whole family loved it. This will be a regular on our dinner menus. Thanks so much for this recipe!

The best hamburgers ever! Sometimes I add 1/2 tsp of Montreal Steak seasoning to add some zip. But I got rave reviews from family on this one. Thanks for the recipe.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

SIMPLY DELICIOUS! As soon as I saw this recipe I knew it was going to be amazing. Even my husband who normally is a mile away when I make anything resembling fish, had seconds. The kids ate it too. This is going to be a regular at our house. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

Lemon Barbeque Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
This is a delightful and elegant looking dish. My husband and I thought the meatloaves were delicious, but the kids thought otherwise. They thought the cloves were a little overpowering.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
Excellent base recipe. Good for leftover rice. Used 1 can of condensed tomato soup and 1 large can of crushed oregano, basil, garlic tomato. I added a 1/4 tsp of oregano to meat mixture and substituted 1/4 cup of Egg Starts(meat surprisingly held together well). I would definitely make this again, but with maybe more oregano and maybe garlic powder. I also like my tomato sauce on this a little sweeter, so I'll be adding a bit of sugar next time. But overall they came out delicious and very presentable.

Albondigas

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2006
Flavorful and Hearty! Made a few minor modifications: only 1 tbsp of hot salsa, added 1 tsp of garlic powder, fresh ground pepper, and since my husband doesn't care much for cilantro, I added a handful of chopped parsley after it was finished cooking. I might added another onion next time since I couldn't taste it very much. This is so easy and great for a cold winter day. I was asked to make this again next week. Thank you for posting this family pleaser!

Sweet Maple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
This dish is fabulous. My whole family raved about it. Big hit with the kids because of the sweet taste. Used extra thin pork chops and doubled the portions except the maple syrup. Some reviewers did not like it too sweet and if I had doubled the syrup it would have overpowered the dish. Made it with panko (Japanese bread crumbs) which seemed to stay on pretty well. I also cut way back on the oil. I also used fat free half and half as another reviewer suggested. My husband is asking me to make this dish for the holidays! Thanks so much for this scrumptious recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
This is an awesome slow cooker chicken dish. Both my kids and husband who doesn't care for chicken so much devoured this meal. I added chopped celery and carrots to make this more like a chicken pot pie. I also added poultry seasoning, cumin and parsley as on of the reviewers suggested and this definitely made it more flavorful. I substituted one of the cans of cream of chicken with cream of celery. Next time I will add 2 cans of water because the refrigerator biscuits soak of tons of water. Thanks for this timesaving, delicious, homestyle meal. This recipe is a keeper.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2006
My family is not a big fan of casseroles, but I decided to make it anyway because I wanted to use the leftover spaghetti pasta and also because my kids love chicken noodle soup. I added about a cup of frozen peas and carrots, and used 2 lbs of shredded chicken breast, and it came out very good. The kids liked it and I liked the consistency--very dense. Personally, as another reviewer pointed out, it needed something to spice it up. But perfect for kids since they have delicate taste buds.

Shrimp Egg Foo Yung

This came out soooo gooood! The mixture came out a bit watery so I added cornstarch like someone suggested and the patties came out denser and firmer. My family raved about them and the leftovers the next day was even better. Thanks so much for this recipe!
