Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Great Spice Cake, I added 1/2 cup of raisins,1/2 tea nutmeg,1/2 all spice,extra cinn. cream cheese frosting , baked 41 mins @350 and it turned out really nice, I used a bundt pan. I left everything else the same.

Lemon Lover's Pound Cake

Very good taste, I added 1 cup of coconut and only 2 1/4 cup sugar and 1 more egg....took 1hr and 10 mins in my oven.

German Sweet Chocolate Cake I

Frosting I had to get it to a rolling boil to get that golden brown...I let it cook at about 6 on setting for about 8 mins , then I put it on 9 for a few mins then truned it til 8 and kept stirring for about 3 or 4 mins and it turned golden brown.

Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

I added 1 TBL of cornstarch to make it alittle thicker...it was perfect after bring it to a lite boil for about 2 or 3 mins...I didnt add green onion because I didnt have any ,but I did add some tabasco for a kick.

Triple Dipped Fried Chicken

This is a pretty good base for me...I like to spice it up a bit. My fryer wont handle more then one large chicken breast at a time,so I cooked them in the fryer for 5 mins each and then finshed them in the oven at 350...came out very nice and crispy.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

very nice flavor, I used all ketchup,because I was out of tomato sauce and half the liquid smoke,because dats all I had left in the bottle , just added about 3/4 cup of water to thin it out alittle.. . I used smoked paprika and smoked black pepper...and I DBL up on the garlic n onion powder...danks for sharing Big Al

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

These were great, I used special dark baking cocoa powder, mixed the margarine with the sugar while it was still hot and dbl the recipe and used extra large sheet pan...you can see how they came out by the pic...I didnt use the nuts or the frosting...they dont need it if you dont want it.

Traditional English Muffins

I made the dough and then i cut it in half and added cup of raisins and table cinn...I pan cook a few of them....but the oven is faster and they are crisper on the outside....I used a 28oz tomato can,that i cut both sides out of the can....it made 36 for me....i also used 1 cup of whole wheat flour instead of white.......pretty easy for great muffins...i let it raise 3 times too....I used a half cup of honey also....i really didnt taste the honey...next time i will just do 3.4 of a cup.

Chocolate Banana Cake

its a pretty good base, but reading review I didnt know if it was add everything cake box wanted added plus the other stuff...so I made mine with 4 banana,6 eggs 1/2 cup oil n water....came out pretty good, not dry at all...next time i might add more flour...you can see how my cake came out in the pics I took.

Banana Fritters

It was pretty good....I added alittle more cinn and sugar...I used a 1 oz ice cream or meatball scooper..I used whipping cream, in place of milk...didnt have milk on hand....I fried 2 mins on ea side....one thing make sure you have anuff oil in the pan,so they can float.

Old-Fashioned Corn Relish

This is a nice corn relish...I used can corn, can tomatoes and left out the cucumbers..instead used a cup of salad pickle relish, had fresh onion and green pepper... because thats what i had on hand....worked out good...I like the pickle relish in it....makes it go!

Rice Vinegar Basting Sauce

Its a good sauce, alittle sweet for me..next time cut sugar to 1/2 cup..I added a little salt and tobasco for heat..I didnt have fresh ginger on hand,so I used powder ginger 1 tsp...next time I might try the sesame oil....thanks

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

These came out just great, I proof the yeast with a little of the warm milk 110*temp mixed with the sugar,butter...about a 1/4 Milk cup to 1 Tbl yeast I used...after about 10 mins then I mixed everything...I proofed for 50mins ,then made the rolls and then proofed 35 mins.I made half hamburger w/sesame seed and half hot bun with poppy seed..I rolled the dough out and used a 32oz tomato can to cut the hamburger buns and the hot dog..I just rolled in a log and cut 6"ea...made about 7 of ea....Best hot dog bun I ever have had...cant get poppy seed buns here in FL where Im at...being from chicago..thats what im use too.

Marinated Flank Steak

Just great...I love this recipe for Fajitas...it was juicy and tender with great flavor...I added 1 lime and 1 tbl molasses...24hr mariade..I like a hint of sweetness and depth..I also live in a condo..cant grill here...so I just browned the meat on both sides about 3 mins ea. and then I added the sliced onions and green peppers to the same pan, after taken the meat out..picks up great flavor from the pits left in the pan...Thanks GUYCON

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

I didnt have food coloring, so I used 2 TBL of ketchup and added 3 TBL soy sauce to the sauce. I used the what it called for for sugar and vineger...it was too sweet for me, so I added 1/4 cup more vineger. I also added 1 onion ,cut into 1"...only had AP flour, so I added 1 1/2 teas baking powder and 1/2 salt to flour.thanks for sharing

Kellogg's® Chocolate Scotcheroos

these are great and easy, I didnt have butterscotch chip on hand, so I DBL the chocolate chips and when melting the chocolate chips I added about 3/4 of a stick to a stick...makes it easy to work with and give it a nice shine to it. I also added 2 TBL butter to the sugar and peanutbutter,keep it from getting hard. I use unsalted butter.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Very nice tasting cookie, I DBL the recipe, I replaced one stick on butter with crisco, I baked the cookies 5 five mins at 350 before I put my trumbprint and jelly on the them. they turned out really nice...I made 45 cookies by DBL the recipe. The Almond really make these cookie GO, I dont think vanilla will make it taste as good.
