Tortillas II

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
this recipe is great! i used more salt and substituted margerine for shortening. also, i did not use baking powder. One time i made w/ baking powder, and all the other times without... i liked the taste and texture of the tortillas without the baking powder. I rolled out the dough paper thin.. and then i placed a bowl on top and cut around the bowl... so all of my tortillas were the same perfect circles. Tortillas came out soft and tasty! They look store-bought, but taste much better! I have made them many many times and everyone always loves them.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
easy, pretty, and delicious! i used it as a side for salmon. I also added a chopped tomato and pine nuts after the broth was absorbed. I kept some extra chicken broth heated so that i could mix right before serving (the mix tends to dry out over time... so if you don't serve it right away, it is a good idea to have some extra broth on hand)

Tortillas I

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
This is a great recipe. taste just like tortillas, but better! I omitted the baking powder and i used margerine instead of shortening. i rolled out the dough paper thin... then i placed a bowl on the dough and cut around the edge of the bowl.. so all of my tortillas were the same perfect circles. they looked exactly like store-bought tortillas, but tasted much better!

Bagels I

Reviewed: May 6, 2005
this is the first time i made bagels and i think they turned out pretty good. they tasted great. they looked like bagels, but not perfect circles (look at the photo on this site). i think that will take some practice. i followed the step by step photo tutorial on this site "Forming and Baking Bagels".

Cooking Light magazine's Indian Chicken Curry

Reviewed: May 24, 2005
this recipe was easy and a tasty alternative to traditional curry w/ coconut milk... i added more yogurt, trippled the spices, and did not add any water. also, i used only a few potatos... it wasn't the thickest... but, it worked well over rice. i will make it again.

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: May 7, 2005
This was a really easy recipe! After I mashed the potatoes, it only took me about 15 min to form dough and make the gnocchi! I put a fork mark in mine to make them look prettier.
