Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: May 7, 2014
I always make a double batch, use real lemon juice, merlot wine, sugar, cherry brandy, and ginger ale instead of carbonated soda. Also, let it marinate for at least 24 hours; that way the flavors marry and the wine has time to mellow out. A good trick to keeping it cold without ice, use frozen cherries! Yummy! It was gone in no time the first time I made it so I learned to make extra!

Greek Chicken

Reviewed: May 27, 2013
Excellent! I had some leftover lemon olive oil so I used that instead of regular oil. It was delicious and easy to make. I did not have time to marinate it for the recommended time but it was still good. I made greek wraps with hummus, taziki sauce.

Doggie Birthday Cake

Reviewed: May 27, 2013
I made this for my puppy's first birthday and she loved it. Next time I make it I will make them in cupcake form so they are smaller to eat. I also added a bit of honey for a bit of sweetness. I like that all the ingredients are things that you have around the kitchen.

Cheesy Potatoes II

Reviewed: May 27, 2013
A little too bland. It needs a mix of sour cream and cream cheese to give it a zip.

Reviewed: May 27, 2013
I tried to strain the seeds with cheesecloth but it didn't work. I added more strawberry puree to the recipe and it was very good.

Home-style Tacos al Pastor (Chile and Pineapple Pork Tacos)

Needs a bit more spice but otherwise very good. I used shredded cabbage and cotija cheese, spritz with lime juice.

Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2012
It was very good. I served it with hot penne and hubby really seemed to like it. Make sure you soften the cream cheese really well so it mixes easy with the cream of chicken soup.

Ham 'n Swiss Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2012
This was an excellent recipe and oh so simple. I made these for dinner one night, served them with scrambled eggs and mixed veggies. I will keep this in my back pocket for overnight guests.

Very good. I love the comforting flavor of a good Hot Brown. Next time I will use a thicker bread. For some reason my grocery does not carry texas toast sized bread.

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
This recipe made a lot. Next time I will either half it or plan to use the extra in another recipe. I need to prep more chicken for next time. Since there was so much sauce left over I ran out of chicken. The spices were good and it has just a bit of a kick that you may not find in other recipes for Butter Chicken. I look forward to trying it again.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
Very easy to make. I had a lot of Bisquick to use up so I made the biscuits instead. I just dropped spoonfuls into the gravy to cook. I make this every couple of months and left overs are still very good.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
I loved this recipe. It was easy to make and beautiful when it came out of the oven. Make sure to roll the dough on the cookie sheet so it doesn't stick to the counter.

It was good. I liked the concept. Recommend using a lot of oil/pan spray in the bottom of the dish to get it out.

Emily's Famous Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
very good. I used 3 large gala apples and 3 large granny smith apples for this pie. I was looking for a recipe that had more of a "sauce" to it than most. I will use this again but next time I will pre bake the crust a bit so it doesn't get too soggy as it sits.
