About this Cook
Yeah so... I like to improvise a lot (good or not, I'm not too sure) ;-) But still, haven't had too many "tragedies" so that's gotta count for something!?
My favorite things to cook
Cheese crackers, Cheesecakes, Broccoli (?), Baklava and anything easy and quick! (Ok, so, as long as it has cheese!)
My cooking triumphs
Baklava was pretty good, cheese crackers I think are awesome, cheesecake I'm pretty good at... I make pretty good bread too.
My cooking tragedies
Falafels (Falafel fiascos of '07 and '08)

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake
Very good! (also, very sweet!) ;-) Next time I'm thinking a bit less sugar (especially in the caramel-y top/bottom), and some orange zest to go with the cranberries. Maybe throw in some cranberries in the batter as well right before cooking and some fresh cranberries on top post-flipping. Overall, the crumb was really nice (light and fluffy)and the caramel top/bottom got the base dense and caramel-y. A big win all-around!

Khoresht Fesenjaan (Chicken with Pomegranate Sauce)
This is mighty tasty! WOW. So impressed with it. Even just the walnuts and pomegranate mixture in the first steps was amazing! (I might just use it as a PB&J replacement once in a while) ;-) Spices were fantastic, although you do have to love cardamom (who doesn't?!) I made mine using Pomegranate Molasses (basically just reduced juice with a bit of sugar and lemon juice). And you can easily adjust the saltiness and sweetness of this dish at the end to your preference.

Jo's Rosemary Bread
Very good! I used about 2 TBSP of fresh rosemary (next time will use a little more) and also will replace oil with butter.
