Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
This is such a delicious syrup!! I think someone else called it "liquid cinnabon" and that's exactly how it tastes!. The only things I do differently is up the cinnamon to 1/2 tsp and use homemade simple syrup (sugar and water) in place of the corn syrup. And I usually don't have buttermilk on hand so I just do the milk and vinegar thing. I have made this several times and never had the problem w/ tasting the baking soda that many ppl have had. I can't figure out why it doesn't work for them. Maybe try doing a little less than 1/2 tsp or even halving it to 1/4 tsp? It has come out great for me every time. I echo what many have said and have not bought store pancake syrup since finding this recipe. It's either this or the real deal maple syrup on my pancakes!

Crispy Catfish

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2013
Wow, I can't believe in all the reviews I read NO ONE mentioned the butter. I've made fish MANY times from many recipes and NEVER have I seen a recipe calling for the fish to be dipped in butter. I thought this a little odd, so right to the reviews I went. And review after review only talked about how scrumptious these were. Ok, full steam ahead, I will follow the recipe as is. Big mistake. The butter ruined the fish. To me, I tasted butter and nothing else. My husband said they were extremely salty. I can see that too but I just couldn't get over the butter taste--way too buttery and not in a good way. Normally, when a dish is this bad, I don't finish it, but I was STARVING when I made dinner so I just pushed one bite down after another. Not to mention the fillets cost 9 bucks! So thanks to all the reviewers on here that raved about this recipe. My dinner was ruined and what a waste of $9. But all is not lost, a lesson was learned for sure, if something doesn't seem right and your better judgement is warning you against it, Follow IT!

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 2, 2012
You can't find an easier homemade cookie. Although, it's more like 6 ingredients. I added a tsp of baking soda, a dash of salt, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla and make sure to lightly press down w/ a fork. And I found 10 min was a better baking time. These came out sooo good. They're soft and so melt-in-your-mouth-peanut-buttery. They're my daughter's favorite cookie.

Easy Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
This was really tasty, although the cheese sticks didn't really melt. In the future, I will use reg mozz and also, if you can't get the chick breasts pounded thin enough (which I can't) it needs to stay in the oven 10-15 min longer.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
I only write reviews when a dish really wows me, and boy, was this good! I recently decided I have to get more veggies in my diet. Before I would seriously only eat maybe 4 or 5 servings of vegetables a month-not a big fan of the veggies. But since I don't want cancer by the time I'm 40, I've decided to totally change my eating habits. This is one of the first dishes I'm trying in my new food life and it was delicious! I will definitely be making this on a regular basis. The changes I made (and they're small) were using 3 carrots, 1/2 an onion (only b/c my family doesn't like them), mincing a few cloves of garlic into the dish and omiting the garlic salt and using Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt in place of the seasoned salt, oh, and reg pepper. This is an amazing side dish-you get 4 veggies in one dish and a little bit of garlic (I try to eat garlic several times a week) and it tastes great! So if you're like me, not big on veggies, try this dish, it will be on reg rotation.

Italian Rigatoni Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
I tend to only review recipes if they're real standouts (or stinkers). This was delicious!! And it made sooo much. I have a casserole dish that's bigger than 9x13 so I guess maybe a 10x15, that's the dish I put the pasta mixture into and it filled it right up to the rim! I didn't want it to run over while baking so I scooped some out to go into a 8x8 dish. The changes I made were I used two 240z jars of sauce and one of them was marinara-and that was plenty and I do not like pasta dishes on the dry side. Whenever I see a pasta recipe I immediately think "onion and garlic" so I diced up an onion and minced several garlic cloves into the meat mix. I also used more mozzarella (2 1lb blocks) and I put it throughout the pasta and on top. And I totally forgot the mushrooms! Which is fine w/ me, b/c it gives me a reason to make this again soon! And when I do make it I'll add 2 cans of mushrooms and a can of diced tomatoes. This is a great recipe b/c it's easy, absolutely delicious and makes a LOT.

Grandma's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
I made this exactly as stated (w/ the exception of using 1/4 tsp of cloves) and I tasted it after adding the salt. It did have a funky taste that might be why others are giving it such a low rating. But I gave it a good sprinkling of garlic powder and cumin and a couple shakes of Worcestershire sauce and it was great. So I gave it 4 starts b/c you do need to add some things to make it delicious.

Sylvia's Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
This will be my first time posting a review. I had to rave about these ribs. They were absolutely delicious. I've never had ribs so good. I didn't have any steak sauce so I used worcestershire sause again in its place. I made sure I cut the ribs b/t each bone. I think this way they soak up the most flavor. I can't say enough about these ribs. I could eat them once a week every week. I will be trying this sauce on a lot of meats now.
