Mama's Potato Salad

I added more horseradish per tasting. If I wasn't out of dill pickles, I would have added them, because it was a little lacking in flavor but good. Overall, something different with the horseradish which was one of the best things to me about it (even if I did add more.)

I've seen this recipe around for a lot of years or one like it...and had never tried it. Now I see I didn't miss anything for it's way too sweet for my family. Won't make again.

Pepper Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2013
I decided to put 2 tsp. of black pepper in these because it doesn't have that info. But if you aren't up on so much spice, I'd suggest making a half batch and trying 1/2 tsp. pepper first. I also doubled the cinnamon, I like it like that. Not a soft cookie, but a good cookie for dipping. The cardamom was a nice addition to them as well.

Blackberry Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I made blackberry jam from this site to use in place of the blackberry preserves in this recipe. The bbq sauce was absolutely delicious on a roasted chicken. The only thing I would suggest is to add the bourbon a little at a time because I only used 3 teas. Better to adjust like that than to add too much and it overpowers you. Some may like more of a bite from it though and add the full amount. Also I was hesitant to add all of the garlic powder, but in the end was a great addition. Again add in a smaller amount at first and test. I added a little sugar to mine. That could have been due to the jam and preserve switch. Had a bit of a gourmet flavor when all was done. Thanks for the great recipe. I'm not sure what the introduction means when it says brown sugar and cayenne in it when there isn't any in the recipe though.

Blackberry Jam

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Best Blackberry Jam I've ever had and that's saying something. I strained the juice from the pulp because I wanted to make the Blackberry Barbecue Sauce from this site that called for blackberry preserves. Worked out amazingly. I thought this on vanilla icecream would be outstanding. Thanks so much for the wonderful recipe.

Mojo French Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
I amped up the spices but not the flour. Delicious will be making these again. I tasted a tiny bit of the flour before dredging to ensure the right degree of flavor. I thought it definitely needed more salt. A real must-try, do yourself a favor.
