Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
I made this turkey last year, and while it was good...it took forever to cook, and I dont want to make the same mistake this year. Can anyone tell me, for a 13 lb. stuffed turkey, how long the cooking time should be? Also..I see a lot of peopel recommend putting it on a bed of veggies, or on a rack, what if I put the veggies under the rack in the roasting pan, would that work as well? Or should you use one or the other?

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
Made it in the oven, I don't have a bread machine. Was good, but not quite as sweet and sugar-y as I like, was more of a hint of sweetness, but still good.

Nic's Easiest, Creamiest Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
I haven't tried this recipe, but I thought I would let everyone know the cecret to mac n cheese from a box. Make it according to the box directions, Adding about a tablespoon more milk. Then add 2 slices american cheese, and 1 tablespoon of philly cream cheese. Stir over low heat until melted. This is the best.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2006
Kinda bland tasting, and it was not chewy it was more crunchy, however, that may be because when I checked on it after 15 minutes, the cheese was very burned, but the crust wasn't. It seemed to be done perfectly. I added more cheese on top, and ate it, didn't taste burned, it actually didn't taste liek anythign at all. Better than frozen pizza, no comparison to take out pizza. Will keep looking.

Christmas Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
All the stores are out of cookie cutters, all I could find was snowflakes, no stars. I attempted to make them anyway, as I had already bought all the ingredients. I guess because the snowflake shapes were more delicate, but they broke apart. I salvaged what I could, and just frosted them.

Easy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
I make a recipe similar to this all the time, and it is one of my favorites. mabye these suggestions will help. add a little salt and pepper, not much you can salt it to taste later i cook my potatoes at 350 for about an hour, more or less depending. you just have to taste it and see. i layer flour to thicken it up a bit. I use american cheese, and a blend of co-jack and mild cheddar. i layer all types of cheese in each layer. i dot butter in each layer also. just a few thin slivers. it is not very visually appealing, but it is very good.

Simple Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
Using medium heat the pancake got done on the outaide to fast, and was uncooke din the middle. turned heat down to low but it still cooked to fast on the outside and uncooked in the middle. I had to throw it all out because it was runny in the inside. Also, it was not fluffy at all, very flat and kind of chewy. The taste of it was very good, If I could find a way to cook them the whole way through I would make again.
