Dog Food Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
This is EXCELLENT! I have made this many different ways, but my favorite way is with a tube of Jimmy Dean's spicy sausage instead of ground beef. It is very hearty and it is usually one of the first appetizers polished off in my home!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
I have made this recipe many, many times and my family loves it. I cook the dough/pizza crust first for about 15 minutes, then add all the toppings. I continue baking for about another 20 or so minutes, until the crust is golden brown and toppings are all melted and bubbly, that the crust comes out better to our liking. It works for us and you then don't have to worry about whether the crust is cooked through in the middle of your pizza. We also make this in a deep dish pizza pan.

Baked Ziti II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
We loved this baked ziti! I used cottage cheese instead of ricotta (mostly to appease my kids) and it turned out great. Per a previous reviewer, I only cooked the pasta for half of the time that the box/recipe stated, and the pasta turned out great. That was a great idea and will do that from now on with pasta dishes. It made a lot, but we love leftovers. Thanks, Nancy, for this great recipe!

Sausage Pinwheels

These were great. I think they made a great presentation on my table, and tasted great. This is something that I might like to take to work one morning for breakfast for my friends and coworkers.

Raspberry Ribbons

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
I made my logs a little narrower, made the little finger trough, and I was thrilled the way they turned out. Tasted great and just have wonderful appeal to the eye. Very easy, yet looks elegant! Thanks, Patsy!

G's Flank Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
Just awesome! I could eat this every day! My favorite meal along with grilled asparagus. I marinate for 24 hours and leave out the pepper and add about 1/4 cup brown sugar. I also have reduced the oil to 1 tablespoon and didn't notice a difference of course. Another one of my attempts here and there to reduce fat and calories when my jeans get tight. Just fabulous! I think this could flip a lifelong vegan into a born-again carnivore! : )

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
My family loved this recipe. The only changes I made were to use boneless, skinless chicken breast and substituted brown sugar for the granulated sugar. I didn't double the sauce, but next time I will and will serve with rice. Will definitely be making this recipe again!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

These are great. I love potatoes, and the addition of the other wonderful things on these potatoes just makes them even more yummy. Thanks for this recipe! Would definitely make again!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
I loved these cookies. I used one cup of 10X sugar and one cup of granulated, and used the 10X sugar instead of flour when rolling out my cookies (which I actually no problem with stickiness). I had my two little nieces over to help me bake and decorate the next day, and we had a great time. It was the first time they had ever made cut-out cookies. I defintely would use this recipe again. Thanks!

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
I had great fun making these guys. Cute, easy and fun to make. I don't like olives so I didn't eat one; I mainly made these for their cuteness and adding fun to a Christmas party! Thanks so much for this great idea. I certainly will make again.

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
I decided to try these as they were in the Christmas Cookie Countdown. I used in my Swedish Spritz maker and I thought they turned out great. I used the disc which makes lined bars and baked as long strips. I sprinkled with holiday sparkled sugar and baked. As soon as I removed them from the oven, I cut into small rectangles and served with the Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball on this website (which was also yummy). I would make these again as I think they had a nice flavor, texture. Gosh, they also couldn't have been simpler to make! Thanks for this great recipe!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
This was very good. I brought to work and also shared at home with my family. As it is Christmas time, I used Andes Mint chips and "rolled" my cheese ball in Christmas jimmies.

Crunchy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
I loved the addition of bacon and water chestnuts. I also added a jar of sliced mushrooms, and put into a crockpot to bring to work as a potluck dish for Thanksgiving. Of course, it did not cook all day, but for just about 2 hours to heat up. I also used frozen beans as I love the color and texture. Thanks for the great recipe! It's fun to change things up a little big once in a while on a traditional dish such as this!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
I loved these. I did not make muffins, but made in a regular sized bread pan, baked for about 55 minutes. Fifteen minutes before my bread was done, I added the topping and it was great and adhered to the bread rather well. Make sure that your butter is cold when you mix your topping ingredients, just like you would with a pie crust! Thanks for this recipe!

Turkey and Stuffing Casserole

Yum, we loved! Per the poor review previously as one star, yes an 18-month-old baby may not like sage, thus his puckering. But my adult family and children 7 thru 24 loved! thanks for this great recipe!

Cocktail Meatballs IV

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
I have been making these meatballs for many, many years. I believe I got the recipe from one of Betty Crocker's first cookbooks. I have made the meatballs from scratch and in a pinch have also used the frozen packaged kind. I do use a whole bottle of chili sauce and grape jelly and have not used the prepared mustard. YUM!

Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
I think this is a great basic mushroom saute. Yes, it might be nothing special to some people, but we have to remember all the different types of cooks and bakers we have using this wonderful website. I wish that when I was a young wife just starting out (25 years ago), I would have had the opportunity to use the internet and allrecipes.com to help me with the basics of cooking! Oh yes, young husbands can benefit from this website also!

My mother was raised in Sweden and would fix these for us every Christmas. She would also leave the dough in the fridge for a day before cooking. These are great dunked in coffee and also milk!
