About this Cook
I'm from a small town in Kansas and grew up on a dairy farm. I moved out on my own to Illinois and decided to try my hand at cooking. I stumbled on this site when I was googling recipes and was impressed so I decided to join and maybe get some tips from the pro's when I hit a brick wall! I look forward to learning and enjoying some delicious meals!
My favorite things to cook
I'm interested in trying just about anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up on a dairy beef has always been a specialty so grilling is the main thing I've grown up around. Sweets are another big deal for us!
My cooking triumphs
I'm just starting out in small bachelor apartment kitchen and I've gotta say I've impressed myself with baking a cake from scratch!
My cooking tragedies
Burned the heck out of some fries in the oven and thought I trashed my cookie sheet. I'm still getting used to my oven!

Cajun Shrimp
Very good and simple! I didn't have oregano but I did throw in some cumin. I coated the shrimp by putting them in a bag and working them around with the spice a little. Half way through cooking in the pan I decided to throw in some jalepeno pieces. I served over brown rice and it made a great meal!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken
I was very impressed with this one! I used honey mustard because that's what I had handy. I like sweet and this really hit the spot. I'll definitely be making this again!

Thirty-Minute Baked Tuna Burgers
I deviated from the recipe slighty but was very impressed! I used Pace diced onions with green chili's for a little more flavor. I will definitely be making these again!
