About this Cook
Very, very sassy.
My favorite things to cook
My signature dish is my Beef Stroganoff, but I love to cook anything that lets me play and use my imagination!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking for the hunters in my life. I like to have a hot stew or slow cooker meal ready for my husband, father and family friends when they get back from a day of trekking the fields and woods for game.
My cooking triumphs
My first prime rib! Beautiful, and still the best I've ever had.
My cooking tragedies
My potato pancakes......sad, lumpy, grey things. Now I know I should have grated the potatoes into ice water!

Baked Kale Chips
I used olive oil spray, and some garlic/parmesan seasoning I had. Delicious! Baked per instructions and they came out perfect!

Pumpkin Black Bean Soup
I thought this was really good, but wish I had stopped at 2 cans of beans. I think the 3rd can obscured the pumpkin flavor a little too much. I used some venison sausage instead of ham, omitted the vinegar, and added a little chili powder and allspice. My husband loved it!

Spiced Bacon Twists
I've made these several times now, and have tweaked a few things to make it easier for me. I begin by using regular cut bacon, not thick, and I cut the slab in half so I get more appetizers out of each lb of bacon. I let it come almost to room temp; I've found this makes it easier to twist. Then I put my brown sugar mix (I only use 1C brown sugar, 1 tsp Allspice, and the 1/4 tsp Cayenne) in an oblong container, long enough for the bacon slices to make coating easier. I use the same temp and time in the oven, and they come out perfect every time! I just made these for my in-laws, who loved them, and they've become my husband's favorite hunting snack!
