Brownie Mix in a Jar II

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
great recipe, a little cakey like the other reviewers said even after i just used 3 eggs. still a bit on the sweet side for my family, but just a tad because i usually enjoy my desserts a bit less sweet. i used 2 cups of sugar and 2 sticks of butter like the other reviewers have recommended but will most likely use 1 and 3/4 cups of sugar next time.

Popovers

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2004
This recipe was wonderful, I didn't bake them for quite as long as it said in the recipe. I kept the popovers in the oven for about 15 minutes at 450 or until a nice not too dark golden brown and then for another about 11-13 minutes at 350 degrees or until they look puffed up. Maybe the cooking time was shorter because I filled my muffin pans half way. These tasted great and my family added their favorites (butter and apricot jam) while I added a dash of cinnamon and sugar on mine. So yummy!

Garlic Croutons

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
like the other reviewers, i used 1 tbsp of butter and 3 tbsp of olive oil. I minced the garlic and added salt and pepper (the right amount for your taste) and then i sprinkled a tad bit of garlic powder before putting them into the oven. these were great

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
i also didn't add the fried noodles to the salad. i added 1/2 tsp of garlic powder to the salad dressing. next time, i'll double the recipe and marinate chicken in the dressing to serve with the salad. otherwise, it was wonderful

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
a bit on the sweet side, used 1/2 butter 1/2 margarine. very fluffy and soft - might add nuts next time, didn't have a strong banana flavor like some other recipes.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
great recipe, i wanted to make snickerdoodles so i made my own mixture of cinnamon sugar to roll the balls of dough in and then bake: 3T white sugar with 3tsp. cinnamon.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2004
This was really good, I didn't have a bundt cake pan on hand so I just used a regular circular pan. I also used cranberries instead of blueberries because that is what my family likes. It was SUPERB! yummmmm

Apple Dumplings II

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2004
this is a great recipe! i didn't end up with that much crust so i only put half an apple in the little squares i made. i baked them at 350 until they were lightly golden brown and then reduced the heat to 300 because they were pretty close to the top rack for another 15 minutes.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I'll have to make 1.5x batter like others have suggested. Stuck to the pan - so cupcake liners would be ideal in this recipe. Otherwise, it was pretty good.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Great crust - I agree with others, it's a bit crumbly in consistency but, great overall. Next time: might add a bit more butter to solidify the crust so when I cut it, it won't entirely fall into crumbs again.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

great recipe! a little runny at first, needed to sit for a little while - i used half the bread crumbs/butter mix as told, but i think next time i'd like to add 3/4 of it instead.

Sesame Seared Tuna

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
this recipe was very delicious, didn't use the sesame seeds like the other users suggested and it turned out great. i seared the tuna first and then added a little bit of the sauce just for flavor to the pan, then served it along with the tuna on the side as well.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
very soft! i used small 3 x 5 pans for mini-loaves but i think the crust was a little too big so i will use a wider pan with more surface area next time so the cake is flatter.
