Creamy Twice-Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
This is the best twice baked potato recipe I have ever tried. The one thing I changed was added more cream cheese. Fabulous.

Chuckwagon Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
Was just OK for my family and I. Was a bit plain. Although it was easy and I would make in a pinch if needed. Might try it over mashed potatoes.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

This was fabulous. My petite 11 year old daughter had 3 sandwiches. I will be using the left overs in a torta tonight. Thanks for the recipe

Orange Pecan French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
I prepared this for Christmas morning brunch. My husband looked at the recipe and told me not to make it that he did not think it sounded good. He admitted later that he was wrong and has asked for it again since then. The rest of the family (25 in all) loved it too. Very tasty. Something different then the usual egg strata/casserole.

Mom's Apple Fritters

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
These were OK, but not what I remember as a kids. Although my kids and husband did like them. I would add some nutmeg or cinnamon to the batter the next time.

Shoyu Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
This was the best marinade ever. I was only able to marinade for 2 hours. I bet longer would be even better. We are going to try this on other types of meat. Kids and husband loved it.

Corn and Black Bean Salad

Took this to a party as an appitizer dip for tostido scoops. But most people were eating as a side dish. They couldn't get enough.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

I was excited to use this recipe and although they had good flavor they got hard. I like soft cookies.

White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
I have made this for the past two falls. Everyone who tries it tells me it is the best they ever had. I could not find tomatillos so I used verde salsa instead. This if a keeper for sure.

Pumpkin Toffee Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
I made this for a friend's birthday who is a baker/cake decorator. So I was intimidated to bring a sweet item into her house. I picked this recipe because it had all of her favorite things, pumpkin, chocolate (I used Heath bars), and caramel. It was fabulous and a huge hit. The only thing I will do different next time is cook a little big longer to set the middle more. But I think that was more from my oven then the recipe. It was smooth and creamy but not too sweet. I will make this again very very soon.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This is by far the best banana bread ever. I only added (changed) 3 things. Per the suggestion of others, I added one more banana and mashed the banana's. I also caramelize my walnuts by lightly heating them with 1 tbsp of salted butter and 1 tbsp sugar. This is something my grandmother always did with any banana nut recipe. The banana bread came out tender, moist and absolutely delicious.

Chicken Delicious

This got another Wow from my husband and "its a keeper' from my 8 year old. The only thing I add is more spices. I have made this a couple of times and have changed up the spices each time

Warm and Spicy Autumn Punch

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Made this for a party recently. I was pleasantly surprised that it was almost gone by the end of the party. It is my observation that punches do not get drank at parties, people stick to the "bottles" or "cans". It just took one person to try it and exclaim how good it was and others were diving into it.

Chicken In Sour Cream

Needed a quick recipe and found this one. Very tender and easy to make. A bit bland so I will tinker with some of my own spices next time. I will make this one again.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
I thought this was a fabulous recipe. It did create a lot of liquid in the bowl. But the taste was great. My 8 and 5 year old actually ate broccoli.

Cashew Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This was an OK recipe. The chicken was hard to coat in the cashews. My cashew mixture got very clumpy. The flavor was good. Watch the cook time as mine was a tad bit dry. I am not sure this is worth the effort or the cost (the cashews cost $6.00).

Asian-Style Pork Chop Bake

This was a great recipe. My 8 year old said "this is a keeper". I was not able to marinate it for long, maybe 3 hours. It was juicy and very flavorful.

Simple Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This was the best meatloaf recipe ever. My kids gobbled it up. My "hate meatloaf" husband loved it. The only thing I changed was that I did not have ketchup in the house so I used BBQ sauce. Spectacular. Thanks for sharing.
