Garlic Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
Simple but not sure why some of the steps are in there? Like many others I did the following. 1. Pasta and strain 2. Saute the garlic, butter and shrimp in a pan. 3. Season with salt, pepper, dash of cayenne, onion powder, parsley, orageno. 3. Toss in pasta. 4. Serve. No leftovers and everyone loved it.

China Lake Barbequed Steak

This was excellent! My wife and I loved this recipe. I too added a dash of brown sugar in the mixture. This will become one of our standard meals for sure!

Easy Ham and Cheese Appetizer Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
These were a hit with friends and family at a recent gathering. Even my 15 month old got a bite and signed for more. I think I may cut back on the onion next time as everyone commented on the onion be really strong (but it did not keep them from 2nds and thirds). Will def make again. I used deli ham and sliced my own cheese because I felt the shredded would be too messy.

Chili Cheese Dip III

This was ok. I'll have to try with homemade chili though, the canned stuff just doesn't cut it.

This was just ok. Probably will not make again. Found it rather boring.

Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I made two batches. First was exactly as described. They were really good but not much "Spicy". I used Franks Hot Sauce. Second batch I added a teaspoon of hot sauce. I think it was the perfect balance. I will make these again for sure.

This came out great. Simple to make and delicious taste. I added a little extra garlic and tossed in some cayenne pepper to give it a little kick.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
Can't say enough about this recipe, great results. I omitted the coffee, and just because of timing cooked it much longer (15 hours on low) but it was the most tender and delicious meat I have ever eaten. Easy and delicious.....doesn't get much better than this!

Made this for a family brunch....big mistake. Now anytime we have a brunch I have to make the French Toast. They loved this recipe and there are never leftovers.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
Was pretty good. Made for a family brunch and I thought it tasted a little too much like sour cream. Will make again, however may make a few adjustments.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
My wife is a big fan of Sangria. Whenever we go to a restaurant that offers Sangria she has to try it. I made this for her and my mother as art of their Mother Day dinner I was preparing. I took the suggestion of many other reviewers and used Blackberry Merlot and half the amount of rum. They absolutely loved it. I had a glass myself and it was tasty. Will certainly make again.

Cream Cheese Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
8oz Cream Cheese needed as other mention. Cookies were good but I found that you need to refrigerate the dough before using a cookie press.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
This turned out well. I followed the recipe exactly, but I also loosely stuffed the bird with herbs: Parsley, Sage, Thyme, and Rosemary. Everyone loved the bird and the gravy made by the drippings was wonderfully flavorful (though a little salty). When I make again I will use a little less seasoning salt and perhaps sodium free bullion. Didn't take much extra time and added some flavor. Will make again for sure.

Feta Cheese Foldovers

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
Made these tonight for the Pats/Jags Playoff game with a few modifications. I used the garlic and herb feta as recommended by others, but how could I serve an app without meat in it during a playoff game? So I also bought some of the precooked "shortcuts", diced it up small, and mixed it in with the egg and feta. Everyone was amazed at these and they disappeared quick. Next time I may make them a little smaller, I made 18, 9 per sheet. They do take a little time to prep, though the second batch of 9 took less time than the first. Worth the work, but plan ahead.

Dry Rub for Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Great rub that can be adjusted for your taste. Cut back on the pepper if you like sweet ribs. Add some pepper if you like spice. Leave it alone if you are in between. Will be added to my favorite list.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Followed the recipe exactly and turned out great! Will certainly experiment with this a bit. I personally like my wings hot, and these came out on the mild side. Taste was spot on though, and very easy.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
So easy....and so good. I make this when have the guys over for a game when I announce it is ready the savages come running. I of course already have my sandwich made to avoid the melee. Seriousy though...this stuff is good. Shredding is a little time consuming but not too bad. I use Sweet Baby Rays, one bottle in the mix and then another standing by for a little extra on the sandwich.
