About this Cook
I am a 30-something female firefighter/paramedic. I started baking when I was old enough to reach my Mom's counter top. I am one of the cooks at the fire station. My husband is a farmer and I cook dinner for the help on the farm.
My favorite things to cook
ANY DESERT! Cheesecake, cookies, pies!! Italian dishes, casseroles, pasta and cheese!
My favorite family cooking traditions
MAKE IT FROM SCRATCH! Store bought stinks!
My cooking triumphs
My family has a home cooked meal every night.
My cooking tragedies
I once made meatloaf and amcaroni and cheese when I first got to the fire station. The oven way under cooked, so we microwaved, grilled and baked 5lbs of meat loaf. I accidently used heavy whipping cream instead of half and half so we had SWEET mac and cheese.

Wow! ok, followed every one elses advice. 1/2 sour cream 1/2 mayo, added shredded cheddar, threw in some paprika, chopped up a green pepper from the garden added a dash or two of ranch dressing AND VIOLA!-the most awesome potato salad I have ever tasted!

Caramel Apple Pie II
Great concept for those that like a variation from standard apple pie. definitely need to increase amount of carmel. I doubled and still could have put more in to get a true carmel taste.
