Apple Hand Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
This recipe is amazing! I chose not to peel the apples in order to retain the nutrients. In the end, I suspect the filling would have been softer had I peeled them; however, I did not care for its extra effort. The next time I make this, I will add 3/4 t. ground nutmeg when adding the cinnamon for flavor. Do yourself a favor and make the buttercrust pie dough used in Chef John's video for a mouth-watering, super-flaky crust. For that recipe, go to and type 'buttercrust pastry dough' in the search box. Click on the first link. Voila!

Delicious Healthy Strawberry Shake

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2013
This recipe is OK. The flavors of the strawberry and vanilla are diluted too much from the quantity of milk. The honey adds an odd flavor as well and was unnecessary seeing as the strawberries make this milkshake sweet enough. The second time I made this, I decreased the milk by a half and eliminated the honey. This made the shake taste wonderful and made it thicker.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
I liked the flavor of the original recipe; however, the batter was too thin. The second time I made it, I eliminated the milk, which resulted in fluffy, thick pancakes that tastes great.

Creamy Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
The original recipe is perfect. I changed the amount of broccoli and oregano the second time I made it for personal preferences. I used 3 cups broccoli rather than 2 1/2 and 1/4 t dried oregano rather than 1/2.
