Garlicky Green Beans with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
Very delicious...everyone raved about these green beans. I liked the fact that I could make favorable green beans without using any type of meat to season. I made a few changes. Replace water with chicken broth for more flavor, added a little garlic powder for more garlic taste and also a splash of teriyaki sauce while the beans were heating through. This will be one of my go-tos from now on.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Delicious! Turned out great and when I took it for lunch, I was the envy of my coworkers. Didn't change a thing; just seasoned pork roast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Pineapple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
Good recipe, although like others said, I couldn't taste the pineapple as much as I expected to. In addition, I definitely will use less sugar next time. I followed the recipe exactly except I substituted one third of the flour with whole wheat flour. I also would probably add a bit more cinnamon. I baked in mini loaves. I'm rating 4 because it's a great starting recipe and then you can tweak it a little for your personal tastes. Thanks for sharing.

Maryland Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Great recipe. I took the advice of another reviewer and saute celery and onions in the bottom of the soup pot prior to adding the other ingredients. I used frozen veggie mix that did not include lima beans. I'm from MD and loved this recipe.

Stuffed Shells IV

Great combination! I used low fat ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese. I halved the recipe - it made one 9 x 13 pan. I added a dash of nutmeg and some italian seasoning in filling. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Loved this recipe. I threw in some black beans...yummy! Definitely will make many times. I used mild enchilada sauce and it was hot enough for me. :-)

Alison's Slow Cooker Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
I changed a few things. I used 1 can beef broth (omitted the bouillion cubes), a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar and pepper to taste. I also omitted the potatoes. I used a 28 oz can of whole tomatoes and crushed them by hand...I think this provided more juice than crushed tomatoes. I also sauted 1/2 of an onion and added it to the soup. With these changes, this was great and will definitely become part of my recipe collection.
