About this Cook
I have a large family and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I am an author of contemporary romance and it seems I am always either writing or cooking! My biggest pet peeve about this site is that some people don't follow the recipe exactly and then when they review it they give it a low rating and tell everyone what they added. Make it the way the recipe states and then tweak it if it needs to be.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook! Soups and sauces and biscuits and such are my favourites. I love to cook big full course meals. I usually host our families Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at our house since I am the only one who seems to enjoy cooking for the masses!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a wonderful baker and makes pie crusts so tasty and flaky...but I can never compare to her baking. She is my inspiration.
My cooking tragedies
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 28 family members by myself and let the potatoes cook dry! They had such a horrible burnt taste but only 25 minutes until everyone was set to arrive! I was going to get hubby to run to the store and buy boxed mashed but then a quick search of the internet turned up a quick solution! I added a cup of peanut butter to the potatoes that I salvaged and with in ten minutes the burnt taste was totally gone! So it started out as a tragedy, but was averted by a google search!

Waffles I
Excellent batter. I also made it with 3/4 cup water and 1 cup milk as I was running low on milk and it turned out good!

Easy Sugar Cookies
Very tasty. 1st batch I did as the recipe called for and turned out great. 2nd batch I added 1/2 cup oil and half cup margarine instead of 1 cup marg as I was running low. (Lots of baking already tonight!) And it worked out fine, made them a little softer I think, which was really nice. I also used maple extract in the second batch to try and it made them even better! Thanks for a lovely recipe, will add it to my favs

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake
Nice flavour and jsut the right sweetness. Can add other things to this recipe easily to change the flavours.
