About this Cook
I have a large family and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I am an author of contemporary romance and it seems I am always either writing or cooking! My biggest pet peeve about this site is that some people don't follow the recipe exactly and then when they review it they give it a low rating and tell everyone what they added. Make it the way the recipe states and then tweak it if it needs to be.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook! Soups and sauces and biscuits and such are my favourites. I love to cook big full course meals. I usually host our families Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at our house since I am the only one who seems to enjoy cooking for the masses!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a wonderful baker and makes pie crusts so tasty and flaky...but I can never compare to her baking. She is my inspiration.
My cooking tragedies
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 28 family members by myself and let the potatoes cook dry! They had such a horrible burnt taste but only 25 minutes until everyone was set to arrive! I was going to get hubby to run to the store and buy boxed mashed but then a quick search of the internet turned up a quick solution! I added a cup of peanut butter to the potatoes that I salvaged and with in ten minutes the burnt taste was totally gone! So it started out as a tragedy, but was averted by a google search!

Homemade Mac and Cheese
Excellent, although I don't like Parm cheese so I don't use it. But I didn't even miss it. The thing about mac and cheese is that it is mac and cheese...simple... People expect it to be some way over the top recipe that explodes with this and that flavour, but it is simply a nice, heart warming, homey recipe that warms your tummy. Kudos for not adding so much stuff that it overwhelms the whole mac and cheese aspect!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
Excellent! Made it exactly the way the recipe states and it was very tasty and tender. Perfect for a cold winters evening.

Easy Indian Butter Chicken
Excellent! I also make a non Indian version since my husband does not like garam marsala. I simply omit the garam marsala and tandoori and and add paprika and tumeric instead. Works for him and he raves about it!
