About this Cook
I learned how to do most of my cooking by trial and error. My mother is not a good cook but my grandmother was an awsome old country cook who couldnt cook without putting out a spread, She lived on a farm and raised all her own food and used only the freshest ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
Im into the pastry chef aspect of cooking and have taken a class on cake decorating, plus I have gotten wonderful cake and dessert recipes from awesome cooks I have known. Im trying to start my own bakery business, but my clientele is really small at this point but growing every day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Im really into cooking homemade soups, casseroles and other comfort foods. My son always wants chipped beef on toast. He has simple tastes.
My cooking triumphs
I made a 3 tier red velvet wedding cake last weekend that was just over the top and the italian cream cake recipe that I have is heavenly!!!
My cooking tragedies
When I first got married as a 16 year old I was trying to impress my husband with fried chicken and grabbed the wrong canister and rolled it in powdered sugar instead of flour. God, it was nasty and bless my husbands heart he tried to eat it anyway to keep from hurting my feelings. I finally took it away from him and ordered a pizza.
