Lion House Wassail

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
I made half a batch in my crockpot. I added burbon (Jim Beam) and it made a fantastic grownup drink at my holiday party. I'm finishing it up right now... =)

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
Excellent quality, just not my taste. Edited 12/9/05 I tried it again, leaving out the paprika and it was fantastic! I'm glad I tied again. This is sure to become a staple in my house.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
I do not like eating fish - I only eat it for my health. But this recipe actually made the fish sorta enjoyable...dare I say "good"? My husband loved it.

Chickpea and Couscous Delight

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
I thought this was very good - simple, easy to make, healthy...I don't like cucumbers, so I skipped them. Next time I will add something green or yellow (peppers?), it needed that visually. We will definitely make it again.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2005
My hubby said that of all my attempts at cooking (!), this was the best outcome. What do you mean "attempts"?!?I'm not a bad chef, but sometimes meals don't quite turn out. But this recipe is a real winner! He said this is his favorite meal now. It took longer than I usually like to spend on a meal, and it was VERY filling, so this will go on our "special treats" menu. I made it just like the recipe said to with the following modifications: I used low fat options where available, and added garlic like someone else suggested. Delish!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2004
Very good! I'm no expert in Indian cuisine, but this was my favorite meal in college. No good Indian restaurants around here, so this is a great find. And it tastes a lot like I remember it. I made some changes however: I substituted unsweetened fat free condensed milk for the heavy cream and cut the fat WAY down. Then I haqd to add a little cornstarch to thinken it up. I also threw in a handful of white rasins like my old restaurant did. I also omitted the second instance of salt and it was still quite salty from the meat. Next time I will cut that part in half and add some to the sauce at the end if need be. Overall - great recipe!

Garlic Chicken And Grapes

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
maybe I did it wrong, but covering it while cooking made it quite juicy in the pan and made the grapes take on a weird flavor. But the sauce is good. Don't know if I'll make it again, but if I do, I'll do it with the grapes on the side.

Just made the sauce part, but it was fantastic! Made it in the crockpot with frozen Italian meatballs for a party. They were a huge hit.
