San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
This was very nice but I made it into rolls and they were a little hard. I suggest just using it as a loaf.

Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
I don't eat chicken that still lookes like it did before you killed it, but I made this for my husband and he liked it. I made one change - I added 2 tsp of Habinero Hot Sause because he likes it hot. It still didn't have the zing I was looking for. I'm looking for a citrus I think. I didn't make the dressing because he is not a fan of blue cheese. Still, it was good if you aren't looking for a low-fat meal.

Turkey Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
This was very good. I used fresh spinach, did not use cumin, and used cheddar cheese because I had it. Beware not to eat the filling (it's good) because the amount is very presice. You will have left over tortillas if you do!

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2005
The marinade was really good, I used lime instead of lemon. I'm new at grilling so the toughness was probally my fault sice I left it on too long. I was also too cheep to buy flank. I got a top round cut. Still, the taste was wonderful!

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2005
This was pretty good, but I will probally not make it agian. If you decide to make it I would not simmer it as long as it was suggested because the sauce gets a little pasty. The meat was nice and juicy, but the sause wasn't very good.

Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2005
I loved it! I forgot avocado and didn't know what pimentos were so I left them out. I put the tomatoes in a strainer to remove excess water and only used 3/4 cup of cilantro and 1 1/2 jalapenos. The garlic salt could be left out because by the next day it gets a little strong.

Fig and Date Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2005
This was great for using up the figs I had no Idea what to do with. The bread was very moist and the flavor was good. I suggest not leaving the nuts out because the flavor and texture would not be right without them. I substituted applesause for the sugar to make it healthier and it worked OK because dates and figs are very sweet.

Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
This recipe was really great! I don't have a bread maker so I will tell you the bake version. Let yeast, 1/2 cup warm water & sugar in bowl for 10 minutes. Combine the other ingredience including the 3/4 cup water. You will need this extra water. knead. Place in a clean bowl for about 2 hours or until it doubles in size. Punch down the dough and knead lightly. Place in an oiled bread pan and let rise for 1 to 2 hours. Lightly coat top in Olive Oil. Bake for 40 minutes. Yum!

Sourdough Chocolate Cranberry Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
This did not turn out at all. I went to a local bakery to get the sourdough starter so I know the starter was ok, but the mixtrure never got "bubbly." I cooked it anyway in 2 pans. I added extra flower to one and it was a little better, but the cake was still too wet and a little too sweet. It looked kind of like pudding!

Buffalo Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
This was sooo yummy with two alterations. I used crackers instead of bread crumbs (bread crumbs can get too sweet) and I maraniated the chicken in Tabasco Sause all day until it was time to cook dinner. My husband really liked it too!

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
The taste was pretty good but there seemed to be something missing. They were not as gooey and sweet as I would of wished. It's really a matter of how you like your buns. If you like them buttery and flaky this one is for you!

Apple Cake V

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
This cake is GREAT! I only have a 9 X 9 pan so that's what I used along with a little 2 X 4 pan. I added 1 tsp cinnimon. I also halved the glaze. It required longer cooking . . . 1 1/2 hours but it was worth it. A great moist cake.

Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

This is the easiest and most wonderfully flaky crust recipe! If you don't have tome to refrigerate it, put it in the freezer for a small amount of time. It works fine that way too!

I loved this one! I used a Homemade Chicken Soup recipe and replaced the carrots with a potato. The flavor was very nice and the consistancy was just right!

Onion Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2004
The bread was easy to make and very tasty. I suggest using small thin slices of onion on top of the bread rather than chuncks. The chuncks will not cook well into the bread and cause it to spoil sooner.

Chili And Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2004
This is a very good recipie. I whould NEVER use Corn Flakes though. They are too sweet. I suggest using saltine crackers. I found that reheating in the mircowave doesn't work well. A little oil and a frying pan will reheat it well and not cause the crackers to get soggy.
