I started cooking in high school when Mom assigned dinner nights, but have more recently developed quite the appreciation for the true "art".
My favorite things to cook
Goodies of all sorts & yeast breads (if I'm to be honest, it's the kneading of the dough that I truly love)!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family Christmas Eve party in which the cooking begins a week ahead of time! What began as a few cookies and oyster stew has turned into pages of excel tables as to what gets started and finished when, and a spread that even 45 guests hardly made a dent in!
My cooking triumphs
A "perfect" cheesecake; a blue ribbon at our church pie bake off; and lots of family dinners in which the food is devoured!
My cooking tragedies
Sunday pot roast- turned out more like beef jerky; a dinner party in which I made stuffed chicken breasts but didn't think when I secured them during baking with colored toothpicks.... needless to say I served blue and green chicken.
