Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This is outstanding! As another reviewer suggested, I added about 1/4 cup chopped onion to the ground beef as it browned. I also added a tsp. of minced garlic and a splash of vinegar. This was THE BEST sloppy joe sandwich we have ever eaten! Thank you for sharing your delicious recipe, Laurie!

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
These quesadillas are delicious. I make them exactly as the recipe states except I omit the bacon bits ~ we're not fans of bacon. When we're done with dinner I always wish I had more for lunch the next day, as there are NEVER any left overs. Next time I'll have to remember to make a double recipe! Oh ~ It is only my husband, 3 year old daughter and I so I half the recipe as stated to accommodate our little family. Everyone loves it, even my daughter gobbles these quesadillas up! Yummy!!!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
I served these as a dessert after our dinner tonight. They are absolutely wonderful. I followed the recipe exactly except I added a teaspoon of vanilla, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg. They made 12 big muffins. They are very moist. I did have to cook them for an additional 3-4 minutes to get the centers done. I didn't mash up my bananas first, I simply put them into the mixer whole and let it mix them up for me. I did use a spoon to mash up some of the bigger pieces, but the muffins ended up having banana chunks in them that were delicious! The crumb topping is a must! I will definitely be adding this to my own personal recipe book. Thanks Lisa!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
I served this for our family Christmas dessert and it was wonderful. Everyone kept saying how delicious it was. I used Oreo cookies for the crust (including the creme filling). I did use a little less butter and a little less sugar in the crust. Instead of using frozen raspberries, I used raspberry jam and just mixed it right into the cream cheese mixture. That way it had the raspberry taste throughout the entire cheesecake. Very delicious!!! As others suggested, I wrapped the bottom of my springform pan with foil and then placed the pan in an inch of water on a jellyroll pan. As the water evaporates it keeps the cheesecake moist and helps it to not crack. After baking the cheesecake for an hour, I turned the oven off and let it sit in the closed oven for an additional hour. I then placed it in the refrigerator for 5 hours before presenting it to the table to eat. I also warmed up a little extra jam for guests to drizzle on their cheesecake. Absolutely delicious!

Awesome pot pie! I did make alterations based on what the most helpful reviews said. Make sure you read them! Lots of good ideas! I think more gravy would make it even better!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This is very good zucchini bread. I followed the recipe exactly as stated and it is very sweet. I would recommend using less sugar, or 1/2 white sugar & 1/2 brown sugar, as a reviewer suggested. I think raisins would be a nice addition. Next time I will try it with the crumb topping someone suggested. Crumb Topping: 1/2 cup regular oats, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 cup butter. Sprinkle on top after 15 minutes of baking so it doesn't sink down into the batter.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
Excellent! We used Sweet Baby Ray's honey BBQ sauce. Very good. I don't think you would have to put these into the oven. Just drain the broth, shred the pork, add BBQ sauce, and continue cooking in the crock pot until the sauce is nice and hot. These sandwiches are very good.

Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
Very good. I made these for a family gathering and everyone raved about them. I'll be saving this recipe to make again! You definitely DO NOT need that much butter. I think I only used 1/2 a cup. 2 cups is too much! You could probably get by just fine using only 1/2 of the stuffing called for. Save the rest for another meal!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
This recipe was very good. I actually took another posters recommendations and added paprika, poultry seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, basil, salt & pepper, garlic cloves, carrots, celery and peas. Thank you to the original poster and the reviewer. I will make this the exact same way next time. I also put my "dumplings" in 1 1/2 hours before serving to make sure they were done. They came out perfect. Thank you!!!

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
Very yummy! We don't like nuts, so I rolled the ball in extra shredded cheddar cheese. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. Thank you. I've made this twice so far and everyone loves it! :) PS. It does not keep well through the next day. It is definitely best fresh!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2004
This is the best meatloaf ever! When I make it, I double the recipe for the brown sugar topping. I also have to cook it for about 20 minutes longer than the recipe states, or I up the temperature to 400 degrees and cook for an hour. I make this meatloaf atleast once a month! Everyone loves it.
