Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
Great scone. The dough was really wet, so we made them into drop scones and baked for about 15 minutes. Also only used 1/2 c. butter. Was a great shortcake substitute to go with strawberries

Austrian Pancake

Yum! Super simple - I used all heavy cream and whole wheat (no marg since with that much fat, it didn't have any problem sticking). Turned out just fiiine.

Play Dough Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
These were alright. Fun to play with, but I think you could do that with a fair share of cookie doughs. After reading the reviews that said these were kinda 'flat', I was a little worried so I added some zest to the dough (grapefruit, since it's what I have on hand). They still tasted floury/bready and not as buttery as the ingredients would indicate. We decided that they taste better thin and crunchy - do NOT try to make these thick and chewy because you will probably gag at the results. Make them thin for sure, they're kinda yummy that way.

Whole Wheat Sweet Potato Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Very moist and delicious. I used a full cup of orange juice concentrate instead of honey for a citrus twist and it was perfectly sweet enough - very good for breakfast. I've also baked this batter in a 8x8 glass pan for about 25 min. Yum!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
You could cut down on the sugar in the overall recipe. But to make a really amazing brownie-like chocolate marbled banana bread, melt 1/2 c. semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate chips and mix 1/2 or so of the batter to make chocolate banana bread batter. Marble and bake like usual. Scrumptious

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I didn't have butter, so I subbed with shortening and these are the most delicious cookies I've ever made! I also topped them with a Hershey kiss as they came out of the oven. They're good, but the tops of the cookies deflated a little... I also was baking these with another batch of cookies, so I baked them at 330 for 10ish minutes.

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
since it's a little dry, adding blueberries, chocolate chips, or mashed bananas makes it so moist and delicious

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
I used the banana sauce along wit the 'dessert crepes' recipe. Delicious. I used evaporated milk since I didn't have any cream. I would use a little less butter next time though, the sauce was hardly sticky

Chocolate Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
wonderful! i added too many chocolate chips to replace the almonds, but you really don't need the chips because its flavorful enough. i suggest baking a little longer for the first bake, but overbaking it on the second bake didn't burn it

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
I'm a little hesitant giving this recipe the full 5 stars because I didn't completely follow it. But for the 1/2 c. applesauce substitution for 1/2 of the butter still turned out yummy cookies, so I'd say it's worth it

Cream Cheese Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
amazing cookies! I've made them 3x now (we had extra cream cheese), using other's suggestions (8oz. cream cheese and 2 1/2 c. flour) and they've disappeared! Note: the cookies will spread a little bit, but hold their general shape, to smooth out the edges or make thumbprints, I suggest dipping your finger in water so the dough won't stick.

Whole Wheat Cut Out Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
Yum. It tastes really wholesome, and if you like the high-fiber taste, this is the cookie for you (don't add frosting). I reduced the honey to 3/4c. and think they taste great. You don't need to spread them apart so much on the cookie sheet, but they do puff up.

absolutely delicious! I made this with my friends even though we overcooked it and blackened the sauce (which we ended up discarding), it tasted great. seasoned breadcrumbs add a nice flavor.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
Excellent pancakes. It's my first time and they turned out just like that picture. Reasons why it's not a 5: too salty, and I needed to turn down the heat to medium to medium-low to get the inside to cook evenly and keep that lovely crispy exterior.. I will make it again!

Sour Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
It's alright. This was the first time i made biscuits and I had a hard time getting them to stick together properly. I used 2 extra tbs. milk to keep it together but it still turned out floury. But, they did rise up quite well and the biscuits on the bottom rack rose even higher. Delicious when fresh, but I can't say the same for tomorrow.

Lighter Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
10 stars! This recipe made delicious and fluffy cookies. I only used 1 1/2 tsp. of cinammon because I was running low, but it still tasted wonderful. I also whipped the egg whites before folding them in to make them extra fluffy. Tip: if the dough starts sticking to your hands when you're rolling them, spray your hands with some non-stick cooking spray. Also, I ended up lowering the temperature to 375 and cooking for a full 8 minutes (the bottoms dont end up as burnt).

not THE BEST cookie ever, but pretty good. I like how simple the cookie is, and how it doesnt require shortening, but it still turns out nicely. I added a dash of salt and 1 tsp of vanilla. yum :D I'm definitely making this again
