About this Cook
A 5th year graduate student getting a PhD in Chemistry (surprisingly, most chemists I meet love to cook!)--- since I am living on a students salary I often have to make "bargain" recipies - that is, I have been known to improvise on dishes and make up new things based upon what is already in my pantry!!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf
Since it's usually only my boyfriend and I eating, I make 2 small loaves - cook one and freeze the other. Bake frozen loaf for an hour and a half at 350. Yum!!!

Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce
After reading some of the reviews, I cut the amount of lemon juice down to a tablespoon. Like other reviewers I found it sort of bland so I added a couple shakes of garlic powder and some salt after tasting it halfway through cooking. I think the garlic really helps unite the taste of the broccoli and lemon.

Venison Tips and Rice
When my boyfriend got home, I was just beginning to brown the meat and he commented that it smelled a little "gamey". But by the time I was finished cooking it all the word "gamey" was no where to be found in our house!! This recipe will definitely be used again and again!!! As a side note, I also used the Dirty Rice mix (after browning I added the water for the rice, 3 beef bouillon cubes, and the rice mix directly to the pot; covered and simmered it all together for 25 minutes). I started cooking before my boyfriend got home so I wasn't sure which cut of meat the tips came from so I used a shoulder roast and cut it up... it was a little tough (to be expected) but still tasted great!
