Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2004
This recipe was the best ever. I used smoked sausage, because I could not find andouille sausage. I added more salt and cayenne pepper to taste. This will be my staple red beans and rice recipe!

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
This was delicious! It created a very pleasing aroma throughout the house as I had it slow cooking over night. Althought the meat was amazing w/o anything else, I added BBQ sauce and we ate pulled pork sandwiches. Next time, I will try it w/o BBQ sauce and simply make a salad. Also, I will not add any salt b/c the beef broth has enough salt in it already. I will be making this for years to come! Oh, by the way, I used an 8lb pork tenderloin.

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
This recipe is delicious! It says it is for 32 servings; however, my family eats left overs and generous servings. So, the amt was just right. I did not use any of the meat in the recipe. Instead I added The Best Meatballs submitted to allrecipes.com by Geanine. I added the meatballs during the last 30 minutes of cooking. I served the spaghetti w/ garlic bread and salad. I will be making this again. Next time, I think I will try ground Italian sausage as the meat.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
First time making meat balls. Very good! Very easy. Makes enough to freeze some. I baked some and fried some; then I added them to Meaty Spaghetti Sauce by Stacey (great combo)! Next time, I think I will try to brown the meatballs in a small amt of oil or in water; although meatballs might loose shape if browned in water, they won't be as greasy. I will definitely be making these again!

Cheese Fritters

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I really did not care for this recipe. I was not fond of the taste of cheese and nutmeg together. I was looking for a recipe similar to the one for Cheese Fritters sold in a local restaurant, but this one failed to compare.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I think this recipe has potential to be very delicious based on others' reviews. However, I decreased the recipe online before printing and I think this is where I went wrong, b/c the pancake was toooo moist. So, I will try it again when we have enough people to eat the full recipe. CAUTION: DO NOT CHANGE THE RECIPE!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
One word - GREAT! There is not anything bad I can say about this soup. My husband loved it and that is rare since he is so picky. Can not wait to make it again and to share with friends and family!

Ann's Shrimp Etouffee

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
This is good! However, using that much butter/margarine is scary! Next time I will try only 1/8 of a stick or canola spray. I also want to try to add okra and stewed tomatoes.

Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
This is a very good pancake. It is simple to make and easy to scale down. I use a pancake iron given to me and my husband as a wedding gift and the pancakes turn out beautiful and delicious.

Bar-B-Que Sauce

Delicious! I made it w/ Equal for my father, who is a diabetic. The taste was wonderful. I can only imagine how good it would be when made with real sugar!

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
Wow! This tastes just like KFC's coleslaw. The trick is to chop the cabbage just like KFC and to chill the slaw well before serving it. I have made this numerous times since printing it 4/2006. I have even made it w/ equal to cut down on calories.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
I rated this recipe 5 for taste. However, I had to work out a few things before making it the second time. I increased the crackers, flour, and potato flakes. I add paprika and pepper, and I increased the season salt. It was even better after my alterations!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
So good! The second time I made this, I added more milk, more sour cream, and more cheese. Also, I used store bought crumbled bacon and added chives. Recipe is a keeper!

Savory Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
These cinnamon rolls were not what I expected. Based on the reviews, I thought the cinnamon rolls would be delicious. They were too heavy and the consistency was not what I was looking for. Although the icing is a keeper, I will not make these again. I was looking for something similar to the cinnamon rolls KFC used to sell years ago.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
This tuna was really delicious. It is very different from what I am used to. This is tuna with a kick. I suggest using this recipe for entertaining or whenever you want to make a good impression. Although the flavors were a bit too strong for my husband, I will still make it again. I suggest using real onions instead of minced onion flakes, which could be mistaken for egg shells while eating. Next time, I will start with a bed of romaine lettuce, then add tri colored pasta noodles, add this tuna, shredded parmesan, and probably Olive Garden's salad dressing. I can not wait! I think this will be a fantastic pasta/tuna salad. FYI-I used more tuna and less mayo than the recipe calls for...personal preference.

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
The icing should receive six stars; however, the cake was average. It was not what I expected for Italian Cream. I was looking for the bakery type cake and this just did not do it for me. I am leaving it in my recipe collection, though. I intend on trying it again with better results next time. I first used this recipe in 2004. FYI-do not double the icing. The recipe will produce more than enough!

Dog Food Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
My husband and I did not like this recipe. This is a very rich dip. We prefer the classic - 1 can of rotel tomatoes, 1 lb of drained/browned/ ground sausage, and one box of Velveeta put in crock pot and eaten w/ tortilla chips.
