Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
Absolutely yummy!!! I did put a whole apple in as I didn't have plans for the other half. I took an idea of another poster and put the fresh spinach leaves in a jug and poured boiled water on them and let them sit for 10 mins. I them put them in the small wizz and blitz them to a pulp with a bit of milk. A very yummy an healthy smoothie thank you so much as I would not have thought about using spinach in a smoothie.

Venison Stew I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
This was so easy and had a great result. I followed the directions except for the water which I replaced with Campbell's beef stock. I also rolled the meat in flour before browning to make a gravy easier to make. The meat simply melted and had a lovely rich flavour. I will make this one of my favourite recipes.

Indonesian Pork Satay

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2013
Great recipe, easy to follow. I used pork ribs and marinated them over night. They were very tasty. I asked my partner which recipe he wanted with his lamb ribs tomorrow and he requested this one over any other suggestions. We will stay with this recipe for all our ribs. The only alteration I did was to dry roast a cup of fresh peanuts in a non stick fry pan instead of salted Spanish ones.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
I made this recipe to the T. The sauce was fabulous. The sliced Mozzarella was far too much cheese so I used grated. It looked great when put together. Once cut and on the plate, although it was eatable, it was the driest lasagne I have ever made, and I have made dozens that have had great responses from the eaters. I asked everyone when I make another lasagne would they like this one or my normal one with cheese sauce and they all said my normal one. I will happily make the meat sauce again but will use it with my normal recipe.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
This recipe was easy and yummy. It was great as it was lovely and moist with a yummy sauce, but would be easy to use as a base for your own recipe. Absolutely fail proof.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
Great recipe. The only changes I made was to use 1/2 cup of butter and coat the apple slices in sugar and cinnamon and the result was great. The kids had fun wrapping the apples in the pasty and pouring the lemonade around it. The sauce was a little thick, maybe because I 1/2 the butter so I added hot water to it and the result was very yummy. Also we do not have tinned pastry in NZ so I used frozen pre rolled puff pastry.

Breakfast Rounds

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
When I found this recipe I had fruit and spice muffins so changed the peanut butter for strawberry jam and the result was great. Kids and adults enjoyed it and all would like to have it again.

Mascarpone Substitute

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2013
I made this recipe when I had only half the Mascarpone cheese for my Tiramisu. It tasted too much like cream cheese. I added some sour cream and more butter and cream. It did not taste anything like mascarpone cheese. When they were mixed together it only just passed. I would not use this recipe again.

Ladyfingers

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2013
I found this very easy to make. I added 1/2 tsp of Vanilla but that didn't distract from the eggy taste. They came out light and fluffy and where a gold brown all over at 7 mins. I have not used them yet for my first Tiramisu and will update when I do. I have only had a couple of small spoons of tiramisu from my husbands dish at a restaurant and actually did not like it. He has been to Italy and eaten many there and liked the one at the restaurant so I will go by his gauge. I had a lady's finger with my desert and found it very crisp so am not sure if mine should be crisp also. I am disappointed that they did not turn out like the picture with the recipe.
