Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
Absolute WOW! These are a must make. I will pass on some tips that I picked up here - they make the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had! I do not even miss the fact that we don't have a Cinnabon in my town. Follow each of these tips for perfect deliciousness: * 1/2 a pack of vanilla pudding instant mix into the flour *turn the oven down to 350, cook for about 20 min *double the filling mix for extra gooey yumminess *mix the butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar together in a bowl, then spread onto the dough *invert the rolls onto another pan as soon as they come out so that all of said gooey yumminess drips down into the rolls *slather half the frosting on as soon as they come out of the oven, and five minutes later, slather the rest (my family LOVES frosting, so I doubled this too - it was more than enough, I still have some left over) I used round cake tins to make mine and then inverted them onto a glass dish. Make sure you oil the pan good and they will just come right out. These make a LOT - I had plenty left for the weekend. I cannot reiterate just how delicious these are - my husband is not a fan of sweets, and he was licking his plate with his finger! These should be a go to recipe for everyone. Again, this is a must make.

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This is delicious, my husband loves it. Loses one star because 1 lb of pasta is way too much, almost to the point of inedible. The first time i made it, I only HAD a half a box, so that is what I used and it was a hit. The second time, I followed the recipe to the letter and used a whole lb and wished I hadn't. Had to throw the rest out. Other than that though, delicious.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
This is delicious, I tried it for the first time and am making again tonight. it is super easy to make and the family loves it. I omitted the onion as my daughter doesn't eat them and I thought the onion soup miss would be enough, and i could trick her with that. It was and i did :). I also used one pack of the onion soup mix instead of two and it was perfect. We do not like our foods overly seasoned. instead of elbow, i used cellantani - it made for a much more heartier soup. Again, easy to make and delicious.

Mayan Couscous

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
This has become one of my favorite recipes because its quick and easy to make. makes a great lunch too, is just as good cold as it is warm, and if you want to make it heartier , which sometimes i do, you can add some chicken and a side salad and its an instant main course. A few suggestions - the couscous step in the ziploc bag is rather unnecessary. Couscous is extremely easy to prepare. simply mix the cumin, salt, and couscous in a bowl, bring 2 cups of water to boil, turn off the boiling water, add the couscous, cover with a lid, its ready in about 5 min. this is simpler, and more environmentally friendly than using a ziploc bag each time. this way you can simply stir all your ingredients into the pot that already contains the couscous. Also, like many others here, i browned my onion in some olive oil before adding it. I also add a lot more lime than what is called for. The lime really does make the dish. Great dish.

Corned Beef Hash

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
Quick, easy and delicious. i got lazy to peel potatoes, though they were sitting right there. Didnt have any beef broth either. I dumped two cans of whole potatoes in, draining the water from only one, and chopped a couple cloves of garlic. delicious, no leftovers!

Seafood Stuffed Avocados

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This was a hit as the second course of my Valentine's dinner. Like other's have said already, I saw no point in wasting a perfectly good avocado, so decided to make it part of the meal. I actually did not stuff them at all. I sliced the avocado, squeezed a lime over it(both for flavor and to prevent browning), and used it as a bed for the filling. For the filling, my valentine is allergic to shrimp, so I used premium crab to make up for the lack of shrimp - the jumbo lump crab -, I also put a little extra cucumber (someone here already said it, but it bears saying again, the cucumber really makes the dish, so don't leave it out),some fresh dill, and although it was valentine's day, I couldnt help adding a few dashes of garlic powder - it was the perfect touch. I served it on top of the lime-soaked avocado slices - DELICIOUS! So good in fact, my valentine was hesitant to move on to the next course!

Buttermilk Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Good base recipe to start off with. I added a tablespoon of minced garlic along with a dash of seasoning salt. I also agree that it needs vinegar. I added balsamic vinegar myself - it was a hit! My family never leaves any no matter how much I make!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2005
OMG! This cake is sinfully delicious! I made this cake from my mom to cheer her up after coming home from the hospital, and it did the job. The only problem is that the family ate it so fast that mom only got one piece. I have NEVER seen a cake go so fast.I had to make it again the next day - threefold! One for my mom, one for her kids, and one for the grandkids. Thank you, Nanci

Run For The Roses Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
Ever since I first made this as part of our Kentucky Derby celebration, I cannot stop making it. It was a huge hit, my family requests it constantly! What makes this so great is it is as easy to make as it is yummy. I use a whole cup of chips instead of the 3/4 indicated.

Absolutely yummy! This was so delicious, we were fighting for the last serving. I added sliced carrots and some ground cloves. I also omitted the tomato sauce. I am very picky - If I like it, you know it's a hit!
