Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2013
Have been looking for this recipe for a long time. Used fructose in place of honey, balsamic rice vinegar, a ton more minced garlic, and added a big splash of sherry at the end. Did not add cornstarch or cook it as I have found if you keep basting your food with its own juices along with the marinade while it's baking, the sauce thickens on it's own. Fabulous as it keeps forever! /arnetage68

High Rise Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
My new favorite dinner roll recipe! Luckily, I always have 2 things on hand....instant potatoes (to thicken my homemade Minestrone soup) and my homemade buttermilk. I used half bread flour and instead of using melted butter just used "I can't believe it's not butter".(I have it in a convenient spray bottle). Worked great!!! Also, I used fructose in place of unrefined sugar; plus cut a plastic produce bag down one side to cover bowl, then covered with a dish towel. I always set my bread bowl on top of my tv satellite box, as it emits just enough warmth to ensure every loaf I bake to rise beautifully! (I live on the Oregon coast,... can be rainy and chilly a lot!) Also covered rolls with loose foil last 10 minutes as they were getting almost too brown. Beautiful recipe! arnetage68

Ruby French Dressing

TO MAKE IT HEALTHIER, I USED APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND FRUCTOSE IN PLACE OF DISTILLED VINEGAR. ALSO USED CAYENNE PEPPER IN PLACE OF BLACK PEPPER. OTHERWISE, IT WAS FABULOUS. AUTUMN SINCLAIRE....(AUTHOR OF MORE THAN JUST A PRETTY FACE COOKBOOK)

Teriyaki Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2013
TO MAKE THIS MORE SCRUMPTIOUS, ADD SEVERAL HEAPING TBS. RAW SESAME SEEDS, AND A LOT OF MINCED GARLIC AS OPPOSED TO POWDER. I ALSO ADDED A BIT OF SHERRY AND USED OLIVE OIL INSTEAD OF VEGETABLE OIL. AS THIS IS NOT THICK, YOU WILL GET THE BEST RESULTS BY BASTING YOUR FOOD WITH IT'S OWN COOKING JUICES ALONG WITH MORE MARINADE. THE LONGER YOU MARINADE THE BETTER, I THINK. ANYWAY, IT'S A GREAT RECIPE!/arnetage68

Creamy Buttermilk Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2013
Made much snappier after adding lots of cayenne, juice of a whole small lemon, parmesan cheese, onion powder, spike, dill and some of my favorite chunky blue cheese dressing. Make my own sour cream so this was thinner; but addition of blue cheese dressing thickened it up perfectly. Best to let sit overnight, I think. Thank you for this great recipe which is wonderful to tailor to your own taste!/arnetage68

Nana's Southern Coleslaw

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
GOOD, BUT NEEDED HELP. INSTEAD OF WHISKING, PUT ALL IN A SHAKER JAR. (WORKS FASTER AND BETTER.) TO MAKE THIS HEALTHIER AND SNAPPIER, USE RICE OR CIDER VINEGAR. (DISTILLED VINEGAR IS UNHEALTHY.....BUT GOOD FOR CLEANING!) BLACK PEPPER IS ALSO TOXIC TO THE BODY. (Reference material...'Back to Eden' by Jethro Kloss.) USE CAYENNE INSTEAD WHICH HAS NUMEROUS HEALTH BENEFITS. ADJUST THE HEAT TO TASTE. ALSO USED FRUCTOSE IN PLACE OF UNREFINED SUGAR. ALSO ADDED CELERY SEED AND CHOPPED ONION. THANKS FOR THE RECIPE./ arnetage68

USED CRUSHED POTATO CHIPS SEASONED WITH GARLIC, ONION AND CHILI POWDER FOR THE TOPPING ON TOP OF THE GRATED CHEDDAR. YUM!/ arnetage 68

Neapolitan-Style Pizza Dough with Garlic and Italian Seasonings

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
As I am an accomplished bread maker, I was really disappointed in this recipe. Dough would not rise, and pizza came out hardened and tasteless. Obviously needs more yeast and definitely NOT cold water. Will stay with my own yummy recipe!!!!
