Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
Excellent!!! The au jus was the icing on the cake. The only problem (if you can call it that) I had was I cooked it on low for eight hours, and let it sit on "warm" setting for two and a half more (waiting on company...grrr...) and the meat was so tender that it was falling apart as I took it out to try and slice it. So we had thick and meaty French dip sandwiches instead of sliced French dip sandwiches. It was still very very delicious!!!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
Overall, very good. I thought it to be a bit bland, but then again, I tried to substitute Tobasco for cayenne pepper. (also added a few dashes of lemon juice)

Slow Cooker Beef Stew III

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
This was very good... I omitted the mushrooms (hubby doesn't like 'em) and used the beef broth in place of the water. Still found it to be on the bland side, but being as I've never made a stew in my life, it was very good! (salt and pepper helped) (oh, and I cooked it for 10hrs on low, meat was VERY tender!!)

Baked Tilapia in Garlic and Olive Oil

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
This was terrific! I substituted garlic powder for the crushed garlic, omitted the onion, used cajun seasoning for the cayenne pepper, and didn't allow it to marinate at all... just popped it in the oven and voila! 30 minutes later we had a fantastic fish dinner! Yum!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2004
Followed this recipe to a T and it was delicious!!! I cooked it for 10 hours on low and it was so tender I only used a fork when eating the dinner. Yum! Will definitely be making again.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2004
Very very yummy... I too added the packet of ranch dressing, and I used black beans in place of the kidney beans. It was perfectly seasoned for me, though a friend (with Mexican heritage) added Tobasco (a louisiana hot sauce). My husband's only request? Next time make cornbread, too!

The Best Chicken Salad Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2004
DEEEE-LISH! I was wary about trying out a chicken salad recipe, but am very very pleased with how it turned out! I used Helman's Mayonnaise for the "creamy salad dressing" (ecch! I do not like Miracle Whip so that wasn't an option), and I used one can of "premium white chicken breast chunks" in place of the chicken breast halves and everything else I followed to a T; this worked out perfectly. Thanks!!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2004
Yep, definitely needs more sauce. I had no sauce leftover for the very top layer, so I just left the top layer sauceless (i.e. the very top layer was the lasagna noodles)... BIG MISTAKE! It made the top noodles hard and crunchy, or as my husband referred to it... "armored lasagna". Otherwise, it was very good. (and in case you run out of sauce, too, the top layer softens up after a night in the fridge)

Cajun Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2004
very yummy! I even goofed on the recipe but it still came out delicious... It's only me and my fiance' so I bought a 3 pack of chicken breasts and completely forgot to cut down the recipe until I'd already poured in a whole cup of vegetable oil and a whole tablespoon of Tony Chachere's (the best cajun seasoning out there)...once I did that I realized my mistake, but with all the vegetable oil, the spices were definitely not overpowering (as a lot of them ended up slipping off in the vegetable oil mixture). Oh, and I also cooked them in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (with very minimal oil in the pan). Delish!

Easy A La King Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2004
I thought this was pretty good, but both my fiance' and I agreed it was more like "green peas a la king" ... I think it was my fault though as I used canned peas (recipe didn't really specify). Plus, the bottom of the biscuits didn't cook all the way...was it supposed to be like this?
