About this Cook
I am a 23 years old, and attending school which, sadly occupies most of my life right now. I am getting married in December. I love cooking new things, and have been cooking since I was like 10 years old. I love it when people ask for a recipe for something I made. It makes me feel good to see peole enjoying my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, I love using the slow cooker (it makes my house smell so good), I also love making diferant types of salads, pasta salads, and dips. The only thing I really havent cooked before is meat. I havent really experimented with steaks, or grilling. So if anyone has some good advice on cooking and grilling fish, steak, chicken, roast, any meat basically, it would be awesome. I need to learn.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family always cooks the traditional stuff apple and pumpkin pies for thanksgiving and christmas. And my mom has this to die for stuffing I will have to post before thanksgiving rolls around, because I have never seen or tasted anything like hers. It is the BEST!! My mom also theese amazing rolls that she makes. They take a day and a half to make but are well worht the time. I will also post the recipe for that soon.
My cooking triumphs
Just making something that tastes great.
My cooking tragedies
making something that turns out flat or not good.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak
Soooo good. Used ground sirloin. There is no need to use a slow cooker and wait 5 hours for dinner. This can easily be thrown together in electric skillet and be done in 30 minutes. I actually think it tastes better this way and you don't need to coat meat in flour if doing it with skillet. I set skillet to 350 and then turn it down after meats browned. Just brown meat on each side and then add everything else. I add a big can of chopped mushrooms and double the water to make more sauce. My 3 year old said it's his favorite :)

Lemon Cake
I absolutly LOVE this cake! Its so moist you would never know it is light. After trying many from scratch lemon cake recipes on this site, and not finding what i was looking for I tried this one. It was the simplest and best tasting. This is exactly the taste I was hoping for.

Wonton Soup
This would have been 5 stars without the shrimp. I thought the shrimp gave it a weird taste. With just pork or even beef would have been great. I also added some seseme oil to the broth and cooked meat before filling wontons. This was a great recipe thank you. I will make it again for sure but next time NO shrimp.
