About this Cook
I am a 23 years old, and attending school which, sadly occupies most of my life right now. I am getting married in December. I love cooking new things, and have been cooking since I was like 10 years old. I love it when people ask for a recipe for something I made. It makes me feel good to see peole enjoying my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, I love using the slow cooker (it makes my house smell so good), I also love making diferant types of salads, pasta salads, and dips. The only thing I really havent cooked before is meat. I havent really experimented with steaks, or grilling. So if anyone has some good advice on cooking and grilling fish, steak, chicken, roast, any meat basically, it would be awesome. I need to learn.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family always cooks the traditional stuff apple and pumpkin pies for thanksgiving and christmas. And my mom has this to die for stuffing I will have to post before thanksgiving rolls around, because I have never seen or tasted anything like hers. It is the BEST!! My mom also theese amazing rolls that she makes. They take a day and a half to make but are well worht the time. I will also post the recipe for that soon.
My cooking triumphs
Just making something that tastes great.
My cooking tragedies
making something that turns out flat or not good.

Blueberry Muffins I
soooo good! Do NOT leave out the lemon zest. It added such a fresh flavor. I doubled the zest and did 3/4 c. of sugar, and it was perfect.

Marshmallow Treats
So good! The key to making sure they don't turn out hard as rocks is to take them off the heat when marshmallows are about half way done melting. I always use the regular size bigger marshmallows, not the mini. I swear the mini mallows cook to quick or something, because they never turn out as soft when I use the minis. Then just stir off heat the rest of the way until melted fully. I even leave a few clumps in when pouring in the cereal. They will be so soft this way :)

Potato, Bacon, and Corn Chowder
So good! I am surprised this doesn't have more reviews. I stuck to the recipe almost completely. We don't like celery so I substituted it with onion and added better than bullion paste to the water. I love this so much that we have made it probably 10 times in the last few months. Play around with the bacon flavors. We used jalapeno bacon and it was really good and added a little spicy kick. Have also used turkey bacon (just add olive oil when cooking veggies if there intensify grease). Thanks for this awesome recipe.
