Cherry Chip Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
Wonderful! Just made it yesterday for an early Halloween party. Didn't want to use a bundt pan, so I baked it in a 13x9x2 inch pan for 30-40 minutes. Everybody loved it!

Moussaka

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
Made this the other day.....so good! I used Italian seasoning instead of the fines herbs and left out the nutmeg. I did not add any extra egg whites to the sauce....mine did not run. Instead of the fresh eggplant, I used a bag of Trader Joe's frozen grilled eggplant and zucchini (rinsed off the marinade and patted it with paper towels). I will make this again!

Chicken with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
Fantastic!!!! I didn't add the salt, used chicken soup base instead of the bouillon, and used green and orange peppers. I used low-sodium soy sauce, instead of regular, to cut the saltiness. My husband doesn't like cilantro, so I cut the amount in half....still tasted great! I served it with brown rice. I will make this again.... so good!

Remoulade Sauce a la New Orleans

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
Love it! Make sure you use Sriracha hot sauce for a wonderful kick. I added chopped sweet onion, since I didn't have scallions, left out the green olives, and added a little chopped green pepper. Used regular yellow mustard, since I didn't have Creole mustard, with a bit of Creole seasoning. Was great on crab cakes!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
My family ate all of it and enjoyed it, but even though I greased the baking dish, it burned around the outside and stuck to the dish. If I make it again, I will add more sauce and check on it more often, maybe not cooking it as long, or lowering the temperature of the oven.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Yum! Tastes like a restaurant dish! I doubled the sauce and reduced it a bit, since we like more sauce to pour over the rice I made with it. Be sure and use Sriracha hot sauce, as another person suggested. I will make this often!

Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari)

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Tastes just like a restaurant dish! I cut the chicken in cubes, instead of leaving the breast halves in one piece. Used 1/4 c. oil, no more. I didn't have crushed tomatoes, so I used diced and the juice. Couldn't find an 8 oz. cup of plain yogurt in the store, they are all 6 oz. now, so I added some sour cream to balance it out. Used dried cilantro.......1 and 1/2 tsp. total. Also added some cut up cooked potatoes and green pepper. This recipe is a keeper!!!!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
Absolutely the best chicken I ever made. And yes, it does taste like the ones you buy at the grocery store! Next time as I mix the spices I will put them in two seperate bowls so I can put an equal amount on each chicken. They marinated about 24 hours. I had two four lb. chickens and they were done in less than four hours at 250 degrees.....I probably should have started "taking their temperature" earlier, but they weren't dry. The meat just fell off the bones, they were so tender. I cut one up and froze it for future use. I will definitely make this again! Thanks for the great recipe!

Green Bean Casserole II

Yum!! I use canned green beans and also add a small can of sliced mushrooms, since we like extra mushrooms. I'm making this today for Thanksgiving!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Way too much gravy. Use one can soup and about 1/4 cup water. I have made this many times with round steak.

Raita

Wonderful flavor.......I left out the sour cream and used fat-free yogurt. Grating the cucumber was a great idea! Served with chick pea curry from this website.

Butter Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
Quite tasty! I used the canned, diced tomatoes and tomato paste instead of the soup, and used fat-free milk. I think I will increase the spices next time, and maybe add more chickpeas and less potatoes. I did not serve it with rice.

Easy Indian Style Okra

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
This was the first time I ever tasted okra, other than in a gumbo. I have to say that I did not really care for it. I did like the spice blend, though, and I might use it on other vegetables. It did taste "Indian Style" to me.

Upside Down Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
I made this recipe yesterday to take to a Halloween party and there wasn't any left at the end of the party! "Dump Cakes" are always a hit and easy to make. I added a little ginger and nutmeg to the pumpkin mixture and I sprinkled some cinnamon on top of the cake before baking. Yum!

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
I have made this many times and it is always a hit. I have always used the Knorr vegetable soup mix. Good with those little slices of party rye bread. I'm thinking of using a hollowed out round loaf of rye bread next time.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
I first tasted this dip years ago at a Bingo party.......it is outstanding! I used a 13x9" glass pan for a lovely presentation. I noticed that lots of people think the taco seasoning is too salty......Old El Paso makes a reduced sodium one that is really great. I am thinking of using Green Giant Mexicorn (if it is still being made)instead of another member's idea of making a corn layer. I like the idea of black beans on top, instead of olives, since not everybody likes olives. This dip is too yummy!

Yum! Cooked it in my crockpot for 5 hours. I also dumped in about a cup of salsa verde. Will try it at pot lucks!
