This is my first official post to my allrecipes.com blog! I've never really been that interested in blogging about my cooking experiences, but I think now is about the
time when I should start broadening my horizons a little more! I made this amazing Baked Squash Pasta last night that I'm going
MORE
I am a recent college grad and I am also trying to plan my May 2012 wedding! I love cooking, baking, quilting, and all things crafty! I also enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and pets.
My favorite things to cook
Since I'm planning my wedding, I'm also trying to get healthier. I am always looking for an easy way to incorporate sinful ingredients into a yummy recipe, but still keeping the calories down. Besides that, I love Italian food and Mexican food, and I just love all different kinds of things! Perhaps most of all though, I love to bake cupcakes, cakes, muffins, and brownies. I wish I would wake up earlier in the day because breakfast has so many possiblities to start the day off amazingly!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year my mom and I pick our own apples and them take them home and make apple sauce. And at Christmas-time we bake tons of cookies. Holidays have always been a special time around our household.
My cooking triumphs
I have made and adapted many recipes to fit my personal tastes and most have turned out well. I cook dinner daily for my family as I still live at home with my parents, and I'm trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to trying new foods.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a recipe for garlic mashed potatoes and somehow they turned into a grainy mess when I added the parmesan cheese in. They were a disaster! I also tried making pancakes right after I moved into our apartment, but I had no spatula! I tried to flip them with tongs that I had but I just ended up throwing everything away and having cold cereal!
