French Toast I

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
This was excellent! I used Texas Toast instead of plain bread. I also used the cinnamon, vanilla, and just a little nutmeg. I dusted the top with powdered sugar and poured maple syrup over them. My hubby and my 10 month old son gobbled it up. I only got a little taste but it was delicious. Thanks for a great recipe. This is definately a keeper=)

Upside Down Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
This was great! I altered this recipe a great deal but it was a good basic recipe. I used mozzerella, pepperoni, green pepper, onion, and pizza sauce instead of spaghetti sauce. I used one can of crescent roll dough. Next time I will use 2 cans of crescent rolls. One on top and one on the bottom layer so that we can pick it up to eat it. Of course then it won't be an upside down pizza but it will still be good. Thanks so much. This is a keeper=)

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
I made this earlier today for my father-in-law, who loves coconut cake. He loved it. He said that the only thing he would change is the type of cake mix used, he said it was really great but would be even better with yellow cake mix. Also, I would mix the coconut with the whip cream before spreading on the cake. I didn't like the idea of just spreading the coconut on top. Everyone should try this recipe. It is good and pretty easy to make. Thanks for a great recipe =)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Absolutely delicious. I did add extras. I used 5 cups of diced potatoes, 1 cup of finely chopped onions, and 4 chicken bouillon cubes. I didn't put ham or celery in mine because of personal preference and it was still excellent. My hubby just finished his and agreed, that it was excellent. We've tried many recipes lately that haven't been very tastey, so this was a pleasant surprise. Thank you so much=) This is a KEEPER=)

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
These were wonderful=)I did have to follow the suggestions of deloreschl, by refrigerating overnight and using a cookie scoop. They were easy and my son loved them. I have another recipe for cake mix cookies that is similar to this one, but my cookies always turned out flat with it. I had to bake for about 12 minutes, but the cookies turned out perfect. Thanks so much for a great recipe and thanks to deloreschl for all of the helpful suggestions. My picky 2 year old son, ate 4 and a half of these before bed tonight, so they are a keeper for my family=)

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
Ok, we tried what others suggested by using 7up instead of water and Corona or Corona Light for the beer along with the limeade concentrate. I liked it ok with the 7up, but my husband did not. He said that it was way too strong. So, the second time I made it, I used Corona Light, Water (not 7up), limeade concentrate, and only 10oz of tequila. This made it perfect for us.

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Ok, we loved the texture of these burgers, but we weren't as crazy about the taste. We took the suggestions of others and added 2 ranch packets, which was too much for our taste. I also used a huge onion, which didn't help. This would have probably been perfect with the onion soup mix and one ranch packet. I gave it 5 stars because the original recipe would have been perfect=) We will try it that way. Thank you so much=)

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Delicious! It would have had more flavor if I had marinated it over night. I only did for 2 hours, but it was still awesome. I also used EVOO instead of the sesame oil, because the sesame oil was $11 and there wasn't that much of it in the recipe anyway. Thanks so much for an awesome recipe. This will be used in my home from now on=)

Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter Crackers

I got this recipe from my mother-in-law and my entire family loves them. We always use white almond bark. They are so simple to assemble and are just delicious. I recommend these to anyone!

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
This was extremely easy and delicious. I won the candy portion of a contest at work with this one. Here is what I did...I doubled the recipe, used square pretzels and Rolo candies, topped with a pecan before baking for 3 minutes, smashed down gently as soon as I removed them from the oven and drizzled with white chocolate after they were cooled.

Hockey Pucks

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I've been making these for a few years now. My mother-in-law has been making them forever. I ate the ones she made and OH MY! I couldn't believe something so simple, could taste so good. We only use white almond bark for the covering. We've never made them with brown chocolate. Try them, and you'll be hooked=)

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I just made this recipe for the first time. I did as others suggested, and changed a few things. I used 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, boiled and shredded, 1 tsp chili powder, sprinkled with garlic salt, 1 tsp cumin, 2 cans of reduced fat condensed cream of chicken soup (in place of 1 of the chicken broth cans), 1 can of chicken broth, 1 cup of water and left everything else the same. I dumped it all into the crock pot for a few hours. I added shredded cheese and baked flour tortillas on 350 for a few minutes, cut them up and added them as well. Great recipe and easy too. Thank you=) This one's going in my favorites=)

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
Wonderful tea recipe. I did as another reviewer suggested and used 4 family-sized tea bags and doubled all of the other ingredients. I think that the baking soda was what made it so wonderful. I just couldn't believe that I made some tea that was delicious and not bitter. I even used the Splenda for baking in mine, because I try to watch my sugar intake, but it was still really good. Thank you so much for a wonderful tea recipe. I am so happy to finally be able to make my own tea!

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
This recipe was WONDERFUL! I only had 1Lb of ground beef, so I cooked it with the seasonings and it was wonderful. I will try using taco seasoning next time, just to test it out, but it is delicious just the way it is. I don't know if I wasn't putting enough meat in mine or not, but it took about 22 shells to use it all up, so make extra shells if you aren't completely loading the shells up=) THANKS SO MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL RECIPE! My hubby is so happy that we have another favorite, lol=)

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
This was really good. I followed the recipe exactly, but I poured some more wing sauce in the chicken after I drained all the sauce I had cooked it in. It was so tender and we just loved it. This is prepared in the same way as the Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue on this site, which we absolutely love too.

I make this recipe just as stated, but I use french vanilla pudding and leave off the raspberries. It is one of our absolute favorites for sure! We really like that this is something different from the same old desserts;)

Southern Praline Pecan Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
OH MY! I'd give this 50 stars, if I could! This is so good. We are traveling to visit our friend who loves Praline candies, in a week. My praline candies didn't turn out so good when I tried to make them before, so I figured I'd give this a try. I made a "test" cake today and it was delicious! I am so happy with the result! I followed the recipe exactly and I used Betty Crocker butter pecan cake mix and Betty Crocker Coconut Pecan Icing. I can't wait to make it for our friend next week. I hope he loves it as much as we do! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
I did as others suggested and used 4 oz jalapenos and fresh parmesan cheese and microwaved it and WOW! This stuff was delicious. I toasted french bread in the oven and spread it on top and then tried some on Ritz crackers. I was just blown away at how good this stuff is! Thanks for a great recipe=)
