Candy Bar Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
These are just ok, but nothing impressive at all. They aren't like a brownie at all and I followed the recipe exactly. I think that the issue is the German Chocolate cake mix. I'd do as others have suggested and use dark chocolate fudge cake mix or something with more flavor. I would have rather had plain pillsbury boxed brownies than these and I do love both Snickers and Brownies, so there's something off here.

New Wife Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
Love this recipe. I used Hickory smoked flavored tuna and southwest spicy mustard because that was what I had in the fridge. I also left out the celery, celery salt, and celery seeds because I didn't have any. I also used sandwich spread instead of regular mayonnaise. This was so different, but so delicious for sure!

Chocolate Coconut Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
These were just ok. They seem like they are missing something. They just weren't sweet enough. Mine stayed gooey. I did exactly as the recipe stated and they browned on the outside, but not in the middle. Maybe adding more chocolate chips would help the flavor, but as written, I don't recommend it. The rest are going in the garbage. I hope this helps. They definitely aren't terrible, just aren't impressive at all.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
Made this tonight using 1 cup of salted butter and 1 cup of shortening. Everything else I left the same. My husband FINALLY liked a buttercream that I made. He usually only likes Sam's Bakery kind, so this is very exciting! Thank you so much for a delicious recipe:)

Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
This is a really good sauce. It doesn't quite seem like any hot fudge I've had before, but it's still very good. I used it on top of the Double Chocolate Brownie cake recipe from this site along with vanilla ice cream. I was trying to recreate a local restaurant's Hot Fudge cake and it actually turned out pretty good...not quite the same, but still good. I recommend this recipe as it is very easy to prepare.

Jeff's Chili Con Queso

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
This queso recipe is just ok. I was hoping for something like Chili's Queso, but this one didn't really have much flavor or spice to it at all. I won't be making this again.

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I was looking for a cake recipe that would go well with ice cream and hot fudge kind of like the hot fudge cake that a local restaurant serves. The brownie in the name got me. I didn't quite want a brownie, but didn't quite want a cake either. This worked out perfectly. I used milk chocolate chip instead of semi sweet because I really don't prefer the bitter taste of semi sweet chocolate. I served this fresh out of the oven and topped it with vanilla ice cream and then finished it off with the Hot Fudge Sauce recipe from this site. I highly recommend both recipes. I hope this helps:)

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
WoW! This is delicious. I just used a cooked rotisserie chicken from the deli instead of the 2 chicken breasts. I was unable to find the 4.5 ounce package of rice, so I bought a 6.2 ounce box of Uncle Ben's Long Grain & Wild Rice fast cook recipe. I didn't change the liquid amounts at all. I added the celery and carrots, decreased the amount of butter and flour, and used 2% milk instead of cream, as suggested by Carrie. Thanks for a delicious recipe. I impressed my in-laws and that's hard to do;)

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
I did as others suggested and used 4 oz jalapenos and fresh parmesan cheese and microwaved it and WOW! This stuff was delicious. I toasted french bread in the oven and spread it on top and then tried some on Ritz crackers. I was just blown away at how good this stuff is! Thanks for a great recipe=)

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
The flavor of this was just ok=( I don't know why we didn't like it. I did everything exactly like the recipe stated and still didn't have great results. The bread was over cooked on the outside and not done enough on the inside. It seamed like a lot of bread with little filling to me. I'm sorry, but I won't be making this one again=(

Southern Praline Pecan Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
OH MY! I'd give this 50 stars, if I could! This is so good. We are traveling to visit our friend who loves Praline candies, in a week. My praline candies didn't turn out so good when I tried to make them before, so I figured I'd give this a try. I made a "test" cake today and it was delicious! I am so happy with the result! I followed the recipe exactly and I used Betty Crocker butter pecan cake mix and Betty Crocker Coconut Pecan Icing. I can't wait to make it for our friend next week. I hope he loves it as much as we do! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Tiramisu Bowl

I make this recipe just as stated, but I use french vanilla pudding and leave off the raspberries. It is one of our absolute favorites for sure! We really like that this is something different from the same old desserts;)

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
This was really good. I followed the recipe exactly, but I poured some more wing sauce in the chicken after I drained all the sauce I had cooked it in. It was so tender and we just loved it. This is prepared in the same way as the Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue on this site, which we absolutely love too.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
This recipe was WONDERFUL! I only had 1Lb of ground beef, so I cooked it with the seasonings and it was wonderful. I will try using taco seasoning next time, just to test it out, but it is delicious just the way it is. I don't know if I wasn't putting enough meat in mine or not, but it took about 22 shells to use it all up, so make extra shells if you aren't completely loading the shells up=) THANKS SO MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL RECIPE! My hubby is so happy that we have another favorite, lol=)

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
Thank you so much for this recipe. I did as others suggested and purchased a good-quality barbeque sauce. I also shredded the chicken about half way through. I've given this recipe to all of my co-workers because it is so easy and delicious! A couple of them have tried it and agreed! This will forever be a favorite in our house=) I'd give it 20 stars if I could!

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
Wonderful tea recipe. I did as another reviewer suggested and used 4 family-sized tea bags and doubled all of the other ingredients. I think that the baking soda was what made it so wonderful. I just couldn't believe that I made some tea that was delicious and not bitter. I even used the Splenda for baking in mine, because I try to watch my sugar intake, but it was still really good. Thank you so much for a wonderful tea recipe. I am so happy to finally be able to make my own tea!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I just made this recipe for the first time. I did as others suggested, and changed a few things. I used 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, boiled and shredded, 1 tsp chili powder, sprinkled with garlic salt, 1 tsp cumin, 2 cans of reduced fat condensed cream of chicken soup (in place of 1 of the chicken broth cans), 1 can of chicken broth, 1 cup of water and left everything else the same. I dumped it all into the crock pot for a few hours. I added shredded cheese and baked flour tortillas on 350 for a few minutes, cut them up and added them as well. Great recipe and easy too. Thank you=) This one's going in my favorites=)

Hockey Pucks

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I've been making these for a few years now. My mother-in-law has been making them forever. I ate the ones she made and OH MY! I couldn't believe something so simple, could taste so good. We only use white almond bark for the covering. We've never made them with brown chocolate. Try them, and you'll be hooked=)
