Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Just made these scaled down to 12. With a little over 2cups of milk, knead 10x, rolled out to 1/4"-1/2" and used my drinking glasses to cut out biscuits. I got about 15-18 perfectly golden dense biscuits, I didn't count exactly, on 375* for about 15 mins. YUMMY! We had these with a traditional southern dinner of fried chicken last night and then again this morning with spicy Jimmy Dean sausage, with eggs and cheese between these biscuits. I've had them with grape & strawberry jams and honey w/ butter. Possibilities are endless. This will be a staple in my house!!! THank you so much :)

Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
I made these last weeked for myself, my boyfriend and coworkers. I did them two ways. One batch with peanut butter chips, chocolate chips and chocalte chunks. Next batch walnuts, chocolate chips and chunks. EXCELLENT! I baked them for about 10 mins per cookie sheet and they came out a nice coloring and soft. Next time I will take a pic. Only modification was to do half white and half brown for the sugar. Wasn't too sweet; just right. People at work ate them up and boyfriend got mad I brought some into work. LOL! I make big cookies so I got about 16 out of each batch. :) Thank you Crisco for a wonderful recipe.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
The BEST dinner rolls I have ever tried! I put these in my KitchenAid Stand Alone mixer as K PRAPER described. Unfortunately these were for TurkeyDay and I ran out of time for rising. So they didn't have time to rise again for an hour after being divided into rolls (no time for cresent rolling). They ended up taking about 30 mins to bake but they still came out DELICOUS! Now that we have run out, I plan to make them again today and give them time to rise properly. They were so good, my MIL asked for the recipe! I will never buy brown and serves again! :) Thank you so much!!!!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
Debbie you should be slapped with love these rolls are so good gurl! My bf Chef is a cinnamon roll fan and he prefers home made to buying some from Cinnabon or in a pinch buying Entenmann's Ultimate 4 pack. Nevertheless, he has officially crowned this recipe as NUMBER 1, even better then his own from scratch recipe. Each time I make this, I use butter instead of margarine, I make extra filling, melt it all together and drizzle on top before baking, I also make a nut topping with crushed walnuts, brown sugar, soft butter and cinnamon that I put on top of the Cream Cheese Frosting II that I use with this recipe. YUMMY! I also bake these in a Pyrex glass 9 x 13 dish.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
I have been using this for a month or so now and it is AWESOME each and every time! I have used it on the Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (minus the frosting in that recipe of course. also, I made the cake into a 2 layer cake and this recipe offered more then enough frosting to put btwn the layers and all around the outside) & Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls. WHAT?!?! Could not ask for anything better!!! Will be my to go to cream cheese frosting recipe here on out! Thank you so much Janni!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
FABULOUS MOIST CAKE! I made this cake a couple of days ago and the only thing I changed was 1c white sugar & 1c brown sugar. Other then that, everything was the same (IMO it's just plain nasty to add applesauce or pineapple to a CARROT cake - I've never even heard of pineapple carrot cake or applesauce carrot cake - EEW!) and it was PERFECT! I made this into a 2 layer cake using two 9" round cake pans. I used Cream Cheese Frosting II from this site, not the frosting listed with this recipe, and it was MAG-NE-FEEK! lol :-) This is my staple now!

Food Processor Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
Delicious! It was so YUMMY! I absolutely DESPISE sugary frostings and dry cakes. I did this frosting as a peace offering to my BF who loves SUGARY frosting but would have to settle for light whipped frosting instead since I never frost cakes. Both he and my Mom enjoyed it!!! I made a 2 layer round chocolate cake (my ALL TIME FAV that never needs icing from Hershey's - HERSHEY'S "PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" Chocolate Cake) and this barely made enough to go between the layers and around the cake once assembled. I will be sure to double next time! Thank you so much for this recipe!!!

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
My grandmother has a cobbler recipe that I just love but she is old school, a bit of this a bit of that - so mine never tastes as good as hers. So I searched here and guess what? This right here, this recipe right here... Excellent to the point it doesn't even make sense! My only modification is that I add a few dashes of cinnamon to the dough and because it is so good, I always double it. I bake these cobblers in a white Corningware 2.5 quart baking dish and I have made this with Blackberries and Peaches. This recipe truly works with any fruit. I don't use any other cobbler recipe because there is non better. Even my Mom said she could not believe how good this is! She thinks its the best dessert I have ever made. Thank you so much Amanda - DE-LICI-OUS!

Slow-Cooked Short Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
When I browned the ribs, it smelled so good. When I combined the sauce ingredients I just knew this was going to come out well. Unfortunately it did not. As soon as I got home from work I could smell the food and there was this scent I could not grasp that turned me off. The meat of course fell apart but the taste just did not sit with me. I was SO DISAPPOINTED! On the hunt for another short rib crock pot recipe. :(

Ann's Shrimp Etouffee

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
I gave this a four because I did some changes for tastes. If you enjoy seasoning, I suggest the following: Use chicken broth instead of water, season with McCormicks Cajun Seasoning and McCormicks Red Pepper Seasoning. I used half shrimp and half crab meat. My hubby could not believe how YUMMY it all was!!! I served this with some of my signature cornbread and it was the perfect compliment to this great dish! Thank you Ann!

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
I make this more than any other and it is the BEST hands down and I don't even use any frosting and it SO VERY moist. The hard part is sharing it and not keeping it for myself... lol **Update 8/30/10** - I have used this recipe for cupcakes, two layer cakes and bundt cakes. No matter which way you serve it, it is CONSISTENTLY delicous and moist. Because I use Food Processor Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting from this site, I had to put this in the fridge due to the +80* weather we have had. This cake stood up to being covered and refrigerated for over 1.5 weeks in both a 2 layer version and a regular cupcake version!!! It never lost it's moistness - AMAZING!!!

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2005
FLAVOR- for those who want flavor the way I do it is... Take the soup, a little milk to thin it out in a pot and warm it up, flavor with garlic, pepper and season salt and maybe a little italian seasoning to taste. In a pan, brown your pork chops with season salt, garlic and pepper (staple seasonings in my home and works for chicken too). We like ours medium rare so I do it on med-high heat when I brown them and then add the onions and mushrooms. Then place the porkchops on plates, top with the gravy and then top with the sauteed onions and mushrooms! FABULOUS! :-) I grew up on this receipe and so did my mom and her mother before her. Hope you like the flavor version!
