Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2005
I am really glad that I found this recipe. It's simple, quick, and so delicious. It's also easily modified. I left out the mushrooms and used asparagus like some of the other reviewers. I could also see making this recipe with chicken, and any other vegetable. And don't worry if your butter/cream cheese mixture looks lumpy, like the recipe says, it REALLY smoothes out as soon as you add liquid.

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
I made these at Easter, and I was a bit disappointed with the results. They are good, but even with all cheese, I found them a little bland.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
Good, but I find that this recipe is comparable to any other chocolate chip cookie recipe. I was expecting something out of this world from all the great reviews, but I was a bit disappointed with the results. If I hadn't had such high expectations, I would have thought that these are very good, but like I said, just as good as any other cookie.

Oatmeal Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
These cookies are delicious! I agree that maybe they aren't the best looking, but their taste more than makes up for their appearance. Just be careful to not overcook. I did this to a batch, and they ended up really tough and hard, instead of crispy on the outside and kind of chewy on the inside. Great recipe!

Tofu Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
This was surprisingly not bad. Like another reviewer said, you can't really forget that it's tofu, but I don't mind the flavour of tofu so it didn't bother me. It does have chocolate in it, which has a lot of fat and calories, but it's still pretty healthy because of all the soy protein. Also, you don't have to add any sugar, so that's a plus.

Very quick and tasty. Tastes great hot or cold. Next time I make it I think I will add more onion.

Oyako Donburi

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
This is fast, easy, AND delicious. I added about a tablespoon more soy sauce. It's the closest thing I've found to the oyako don served at local Japanese restaurants. Really, really good!

Vietnamese Style Vegetarian Curry Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
I LOVE vietnamese food, but I wasn't really impressed with this as a soup, but when I added some rice noodles (rice stick) it made a great noodle dish.

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
This made really good, easy gravy. I didn't have bouillon cubes, so I added about 3/4 of a can of beef broth, and reduced the water. Great recipe!

Rice with Black Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2004
I thought that this recipe was just ok. I used the exact measurements called for, but I could only really taste the stewed tomatoes.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2004
I wasn't really impressed with this recipe. The only change I made was substituting vegetable oil for the peanut oil. The end result was kind of bland, and it didn't taste authentic to me.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2004
Sooooooooo good. I thought that the flavour of this salad was great. My brothers didn't really like it, but they don't like the flavour of cilantro. I am still giving this recipe 5 stars because I thought that it was delicious. I would say that this is my favourite recipe from this site. I suggest using whole wheat couscous: it's better for you, and you can't really taste a difference.
