Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
So addicting and delicious! My husband and I have been making this daily ever since I found this recipe and it has now replaced my normal cup of hot coffee. I really believe that the brand of coffee that you use really makes a huge difference in flavor. My personal favorite that I've been using is original Maxwell House instant coffee granules. It has a nice smooth nutty flavor to it, almost like caramel. The only thing that I change is the amount of sugar, a little more, a little less, depending on what I'm on the mood for that day. Give this a try, it really is good and easy plus it saves you money :)

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
Yummmmmmm! These were so delicious! My husband, 2 boys and I loved these and cannot wait to eat them again. We filled ours with Nutella and sliced bananas while still warm so that the nutella could melt, topped with homemade whipped cream and powered sugar with a side scoop of vanilla ice cream. We were in heaven! I froze the remaining crepes and cannot wait to eat them next Saturday night for dessert! Thank you so much for submitting this recipe :)

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
These were great! I doubled the sauce, but kept the sugar to 1tsp, added fresh cilantro in place of oregano, added 1tsp cumin & chili powder, a few dashes of tabasco, and some canned chopped green chiles and it was perfect. I plan on using this recipe over and over again for chicken tacos! Yummy!

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
OH MAN!! This chocolate frosting is SOOOO good! Only thing that I did different was cutting down the sugar to a little under 2 cups (I don't like my frosting sickeningly sweet) and it was perfect for my tastes. Very quick and simple to make, I microwaved the chocolate and butter and then whipped it up with the rest of the ingredients in my kitchen aid mixer and it was perfectly creamy and oh so fluffy! This is my new favorite frosting and I plan on using it over and over again. Bye bye canned frosting! Thanks a million Mary Beth for sharing this recipe with us!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
Delicious! This was my first attempt at ever making an apple pie and it was perfection! I used pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts, 1 tsp cinnamon, a few dashes of freshly grated nutmeg and 1 T vanilla extract (I removed 1 T from the 1/4 cup water). What a wonderful pie and very easy to prepare! Thank you

WOW! This was amazing! Only thing that I did different was add about a 1/4 cup more white wine and simmered for 30min. Beautiful dish!

Marinated Wild Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
The best! I've made this several times and refuse to make my salmon with any other marinade. Delicious flavors without over powering the salmon. I substitute parsley for cilantro because my husband is not a big fan but that is the only change I make. I recommend this marinade to all of my friends and family.

BBQ NY Strip

Great marinade! I didn't have any steak seasoning so I added salt, black pepper & about 2 tbsp of mrs. dash steak blend. VERY GOOD and I plan on making this my primary steak marinade form now on.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
The sauce alone is the best!!! I've never added the capers though because I do not like them. I also only add 1/2 of the cayenne and it's still enough heat for us. Either way, this is by far one of my favorites meals/recipes ever as well as my husbands. The beer batter is wonderful but whenever I feel like eating lighter I use grilled or broiled tilapia seasoned w/ chili, onion, & garlic powder, lime juice, salt & pepper & it's out of this world. I also buy bagged coleslaw mix to save prepping time. I garnish my tacos with homemade pico de gallo, lime wedge & cilantro...OMG I'm salivating just thinking about it!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
While this definetly was easy it was just a little too dense for me. Next time I think I'll try substituting bread flour and see if that results in a chewier and lighter crust. Either way, the fact that I made pizza dough in less than five minutes w/o having to knead rocks!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Yum! Sooo good! I made it with Frank's buffalo wing sauce and it was just perfect heat wise. Both of my young boys devoured it. I also made my own pizza dough, used Pizza Dough I from this site, which was very easy to make but just ok texture wise. Plan on making this over and over again.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
My husband LOVED these pork chops. In fact, he raved about how good they were. I think the sauce tastes more like an asian bbq sauce. I did change it up a bit...1/2 cup each of ketchup, brown sugar & soy sauce. I didn't add ginger (cause I hate ginger)or salt but I did add a couple squirts of honey, freshly ground pepper, extra crushed garlic, chopped up green, red & yellow bell peppers & sliced onions. I also added cornstarch towards the end because the sauce was a bit too thin for me. It was just perfect, cooked the full 6 hrs on low and pork chops were oh so tender. Next time I think I'll add pineapple chunks, yum!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
What a great recipe! Changes that I had to make in order to accommodate to my family's tastes and available ingredients: I used 1/4 cup italian breadcrumbs and 1 3/4 cups of crushed ritz crackers (only because I ran out of the italian breadcrumbs) and the breading tasted so buttery and delicious! I seasoned the pork chops with Lawry's seasoning salt, fresh cracked black pepper, onion and garlic powder. I also added 1 tbsp rubbed sage, one crushed garlic clove and fresh cracked pepper to the sauce. I only baked 30/30 minutes and the pork chops were perfectly tender and oh so juicy. We served them over white rice & steamed broccoli/cauliflower. Such a comforting and filling dinner. Thank you for this recipe, I plan on making this over and over again.

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2005
This soup is OUTSTANDING!!! We just made this tonight and it tasted just like "carabas" spicy sausage and lentil soup, except of course it wasn't spicy. Only changes we made was that we used mild italian sausage other than sweet, added a bit more salt to taste, added a can of spinach towards the end of cooking and instead of cooking it for 2 to 3 hours, we used our pressure cooker and it was done in less than 30 minutes! A very good looking sopu, a meal within itself!

Cream Cheese Kolacky

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
These are the best Kolacky ever! They are nice and tender and flaky. I have always loved kolacky but I always thought that they'd be too dificult to make. However, I can't believe how easy they are to make! Just 3 ingredients, I can't believe I used to pay so much for only a few at my local bakery. I like to sprinkle them with powdered sugar once cooled and they are just PERFECT!!! I made them for the first time late last night, and they were gone by early morning. I am making them again today, however, this time I am doubling the recipe. Thank you for sharing this recipe with me! I just can't get enough of them!

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2004
OH MY GOD!!! THIS IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE EVER!!!!! It is sooo moist and delicious. I can't believe that I actually made it from scratch, and it actually looks exactly like it does in the picture! I'll never go back to a box cake again! Only thing I changed was that I cut out parchment paper rounds and greased them with butter instead of greasing and flouring pans and the cake pooped right out! They were perfect rounds! (usually they always get stuck to the bottom of the pan, even with greasing and flouring)So I definetly recommend doing this. I also just bought store bought milk chocolate frosting. I used one and a half tubs of it by the way. My whole family raved about how good this was and have already name it they're favorite!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2004
I really didn't care much for this recipe, I think that the sweetness really does not compliment the taste and texture of salmon. However, I do think that this would be great on grilled shrimp or even chicken! Not even my husband (who loves to eat anything) liked this recipe. Sorry, but just not very impressed. :(
