Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
This is excellent. I made it as listed, but I doubled the dough part. Baked it in a small pyrex dish. Delish!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
These are really good and not that difficult to make. The refrigeration/freezing steps are definitely helpful. I did not use an entire container of frosting. I'll definitely use candy melt instead of almond bark next time. The almond bark is too sweet and will take your head off!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
This is the ONLY way I make applesauce now. My kids love it. I usually reduce the sugar and the water and make it in the slow cooker. Excellent!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
Wonderful! Made exactly as written except for using melted butter instead of spray on the chips. Everyone loves this!

Joey's Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
This is excellent! I took a shortcut and buttered only one side of the toast, but it turned out to be fantastic anyway. I also topped it with a vanilla sauce I found on another recipe website, and it made this recipe beyond belief. In case you're wondering, the vanilla sauce I used was: 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of whipping cream. Cook over medium heat and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp of vanilla. Wonderful!

Cranberry Brunch Punch

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
I made this for a baby shower brunch and it was definitely a hit. It was a great choice because it wasn't too sweet. After my guests left and the stress of the shower was over, I mixed a little of it with Malibu rum. Mmmmm...

Pistachio Fruit Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
Pretty good. It did not taste at all like it was made with sugar-free jello and reduced fat whipped topping. Next time I will add some chopped nuts.

Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
I thought this pie was just okay. It really was overly sweet as some of the other reviewers said. And I even reduced the sugar as some suggested.

Strawberry Dream Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
I gave this 4 stars, but I'll admit that I'm one of those annoying reviewers who made substitutions. I took a short cut and used a strawberry cake mix instead of making it from scratch. I made this for my mom's birthday and everyone loved it--even my husband who doesn't really like cake. I had a hard time getting the white chocolate and cream cheese to completely blend, but other than that, it was yummy.

Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I also cut the amount of sugar by half and used raspberry balsamic vinegar instead of raspberry wine vineger. I used the blender to blend. It was yummy!

Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
Maybe I did something wrong, but we were not at all thrilled with this recipe. I even pumped it up a bit by adding a smidgen of garlic and sage per some of the other reviews.

Bacon Cheeseburger Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
As with lots of cakes like this, this one doesn't taste particularly good. A brownie sandwiched between two layers of yellow cake is a little odd. However, it was very easy to put together, and my 10 year old step-daughter thought it was a great birthday cake. Everyone raved about how much it really looked like a cheeseburger. Personally, I don't think the icing is needed for the "bun" because it looks enough like a bun without it. And my icing turned a weird orange color. Overall, it's 5 stars for looks and 3 stars for taste, which averages out to a 4.

Peach Cobbler I

Great recipe! So easy and good. I also added a smidge of vanilla and some cinnamon, but otherwise I made it as written. Our family gobbled it up.

Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
My husband is officially in love with this cake! I took another reviewer's advice and added some chocolate chips and used canned whipped cream cheese frosting. It's so moist and delicious. I really like the chocolate chips in it, but my husband wants me to try it without them next time. Either way, this cake is great!

Mango Teriyaki Marinade

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
Very easy and pretty good. We made it with chicken. It only gets 4 stars because my husband and I thought it was a little salty, but my picky 3 year old really liked it. I had the leftovers today on a salad. I will definitely make it again.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
This was FABULOUS! Let me say that I am definitely NOT a great cook. But my husband requested a pumpkin roll for Thanksgiving, and I decided to try my best. The results? He said it was the best he had ever eaten. Woo hoo! The ONLY change I made was a smidge less powdered sugar (almost a cup, but not quite). This recipe is perfect AS IS!

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
These are very yummy and filling. I did make one change and that is that I cut the wheat bran to 1 cup and added 1/2 cup of steel cut oats. If you like crunchy stuff, you might like this change. It ups the protein count and creates a very hearty, but sweet and moist muffin.

Breakfast Kolaches

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
Great flavor. My family loved them. Just make sure you don't make the dough balls too large. I did and so mine turned out to be more dough than filling. Next time I'll try basting with melted butter while they bake as another reviewer suggested. Will definitely make again.
