Pork-n-Beans Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
This is so moist and yummy. I glazed it with a powdered sugar icing and it made it so sweet, not that it wasn't sweet already. I will certainly make this again, even though it is hard to get past knowing what is in it. Thanks for the recipe.

Butter Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
I did change a few things about this recipe, but overall think it is wonderful and will make again and again. I halved the beef & butter, but forgot to 1/2 the onion soup mix, so I added a can of cream of mushroom to cut the saltiness. I love the taste that the mushroom soup brings to this. I also browned my meat before putting it in with the other ingredients. I haven't served it yet, as my husband isn't home from work, but will serve over egg noodles or biscuits! YUMMY! Thanks for the easy, great recipe.

Country Rib Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
I gave this a 3 because of the easiness of it. It went together so simply and was a cinch. However, I thought the taste was horrible. I think it was the applesauce. The meat came out tough and it just didn't have much flavor. My husband said it was "okay". I will not be using this recipe again. BTW, I followed the recipe to the letter . . .

Fudge Bonbons

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
I thought these were difficult to make and they still tasted like flour after they were baked. I followed the recipe to the t, with the exception of adding a bit more vanilla than it called for. I would not make these again.

Peanut Butter Cake V

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
The recipe was certainly simple enough, but that is the only thing it has going for it. I am a huge peanut butter fan, but this recipe was lacking for something. It came out like a very large, dry peanut butter cookie. I was very disappointed in this recipe and will not be making it again.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
These are fantastic! I also omitted the baking powder to attain a denser brownie, but it didn't hurt them at all! They are so moist and rich. I did make one other substitution in the frosting. I added light corny syrup instead of the honey (didn't have any honey) and a sprinkle of water to moisten the mixture. These would get a 6th star, if I could only offer that! Definitly a keeper!

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
If you like fresh garlic then this is a must-make recipe. It has a wonderful garlic flavor and the chicken is so moist. The breading is crunchy and flavorful. I served it with mashed potatoes and green beans w/tomoatoes. I will be making this again and again.

Fruit Slaw

Reviewed: May 2, 2006
This recipe was nothing more than a good waste of fruit. I didn't like the taste of the Marzetti slaw dressing from the onset and after following the recipe to the letter and tasting it, I ended up adding a cup of powdered sugar. That did help the taste but not enough to give it a better rating. It was a very pretty salad, but just didn't have the taste to back up the look or validate the cost. I will not make this again and will probably end up throwing this batch in the trash (unless my grandma will eat it).

Tri-Mustard Salad

Reviewed: May 8, 2006
hmmmm . . . tomatoes and mustard . . . 2 of my least favorite things, yet 2 of my husband's faves. But they say a way to a man's heart is through his stomach and I am jonesing for a new digital camera that costs $900 so I made the salad. And to my surprise it is quite good. We had nicely ripened yet firm tomatoes and this made huge amount of salad. My dh hasn't tried it yet, but I know he will love, love, love it. You think the mustard is going to be to much, but it isn't. It makes a great summer salad! I will make this again and I will eat it, too, even though I doubted the recipe at first.

Cassie's Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
I have a massive amount of zucchini to use this summer and I found this brownies. They are very cake-like, which I love! The recipe was very easy and went together in about 5 minutes (zucchini already prepared). I didn't follow the other reviews until the brownies had baked about 10 minutes and then I decided to sprinkle some mixed chips on top. I also iced with a chocolate icing. They are yummy and will go over very well here!

Tandy Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This was not at all what I was expecting. I didn't care for it, but am giving it 3 stars because my family liked. it. It was easy to prepare, yet, to complicated for the end result.

Moroccan Salmon Cakes with Garlic Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
Something was terribly wrong with this recipe. I love salmon patties. I don't care for spinach by itself, but in something it is okay, so I thought this would be a perfect way to get my veggie in with my salmon. I followed the recipe to the letter. I didn't even add extra garlic this time, and I am prone to doing that. The patties would not stay together at all. The salmon was very fishy tasting, which isn't the recipes fault. As a result, the dish was not edible. I was going to rate it a 1 because of that, but gave it a 3 because it was mostly not edible because of the taste of the particular salmon I purchased. On the other hand, the garlic mayo was fabulous. I kept it for another use. I loved the idea of the spinach and couscous. The recipe was not complicated, but it was very time consuming. I would never make this again.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
Wow! I loved this and so did my husband. It was really easy to make and turned out great. It was so sweet and yummy. I wasn't a huge fan of the crust, but the peaches & cream cheese mix made up for that! Thanks for the recipe.

Cream Of Garlic Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
This didn't seem to be as much work as some of the others suggested. Maybe I just knew that it would be worth it so it didn't bother me. Some of the other reviewers also suggested that this recipe might be to runny. I followed the recipe exactly (with the exception of using more broth instead of wine) and it turned out just like we had experienced on our cruise vacations. This is great served out of bread bowls!! Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
This was great as far as enchiladas go. I don't prefer soft shelled Mexican fare, but this had a great flavor. I also made it once with ground beef and it also turned out just as well. We ate 5 and froze 5 for my son & his family. They also give it a thumbs up. Even my 18 month old grandson liked them.

Cheesy Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
Yummy! It kind of tastes like barbequed corn. It's very easy and everyone raves about it! I love this as a summer side dish served with hamburgers or steaks on the grill! Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Chimi in the Oven

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
I probably used more garlic than most, but that is to suit my own family preference. The only other thing that I did was add cheese on top of my meat & bean mixture. These were really easy for me and they tasted great! I will be making them again and again. It is just as good as our local Mexican restaurant and cheaper, too!

Polly Welby's Excellent Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
This had a great chocolate flavor going into the serving dishes. It was a great consistency and I was so pleased with the looks of the dessert as well. Fast forward to actually eating the dessert. It got so hard that I could have used an ice cream scoop to dip it. It also made the texture really thick. It became inedible after a few hours in the fridge. We ended up throwing it away. I will not make this recipe again. Sorry!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I am giving this 4 because I didn't really care for it. It wasn't moist enough for my tatste and could have had a lot more cheese!!! It didn't have a lot of flavor in my opinion. However, my husband did eat it and he never eats veggies. My dd, who loves broccoli, didn't like it, either. But to credit the recipe, it was easy to prepare and looked beautiful. It just wasn't something that I enjoyed. I doubt I would make it again and if I did I would change the recipe a litle to suit my tastes better. Thanks for the recipe.

Colossal Caramel Apple Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
I don't know in what kind of world one lives in that they can fit this recipe in a trifle bowl, but the massive amount of trifle that this makes doesn't impede the awesome flavor. I don't particularly care for apples, so I am trying to think of a way to adapt it to peach pie filling. However, as far as apples go this gets a huge 5 stars. The pudding mixture was great and I toasted my pecans before putting them in. Thanks for the great, big, awesome recipe!
