Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
Yummy and moist but a little chewy. By the time the middle was baked, the outside was quite crispy. Will probably try again.

Swiss Chard with Garbanzo Beans and Fresh Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Got Swiss Chard in my CSA box and had no idea what to do with it. Found this recipe, tried it and loved it. I accidentally made it with navy beans but it was delicious!

These were excellent. Crispy and delicious. They are better than the store bought ones for sure!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Excellent spread. I followed some of the suggestions and added more jalapeno and chilies and I think it was a bit too hot for some of my guests. I will try it just as the recipe says and I think it will appeal to everyone. Otherwise it was super tasty and easy to make!

Tea Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
Nice flaky texture on the outside and soft on the inside. I spooned them into muffin tins instead of rolling them out and cutting them and they turned out great. Definately will make these again.

Spritz Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Very good cookie. I had to add an extra egg yolk and 2 tbsp of milk to make it work with my cookie press though.

Sicilian Fig Cookies

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
Very tasty. I was trying to replicate a family favorite with this recipe and although it wasn't the same I have to say I think it was better. The rum gave it a nice kick and my husband ate the whole batch in 2 days!! I tried various ways of "stuffing" the cookie and found doing it as a pinwheel was the best (looks pretty too!). Roll out a rectangle of dough, spread fig mix over entire rectangle, roll into a log, put in fridge for 30 min, slice into 1/4" cookies. Bake at 400 until golden brown.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
Excellent cheesecake. It is surprisingly light but very decadent. I followed the instructions to keep the oven closed for 5 hours and the cake didn't crack at all. I will definately make again!

The best banana bread I have ever had. I made it in the jars and I have also made muffins and loaves out of it. Very moist and a definate keeper.

Very tasty. I liked the bread crumb topping a lot. The chops were tender and this was very easy to make. I will make again!

Empire Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
The cookies were good but the icing was not very good at all. The almond flavour was over powering and the icing was too sweet. If I were to make again I would skip the icing as the cookies were good by themselves

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
Incredibly addictive! I found they were too sweet when I tried them warm. Once they cooled, I couldn't keep my hands out of the pan! I used milk chocolate chips instead of semi sweet. They would make a wonderful Christmas treat.

Aunt Dee Dee's Apple Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
Excellent cake. It was not too sweet and perfect with a cup of coffee or tea or even for breakfast. I used fresh apples tossed wiht some brown sugar and cinnamon instead of pie filling and I feel it gave it a fresher taste. I will definately make it again!

Very good recipe. I followed other posters suggestions and used chicken stock instead of water and it turned out great. I also added shredded left over turkey from Thanksgiving and it was a nice addition. Will definately make again

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
Fantastic recipe. I left out the worschestire sauce and used regular kidney beans, cut the chili powder in half and used half the caynne pepper too. It had spice but didn't burn. I will definately make this recipe from now on!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
Good recipe. These muffins have a real strong banana flavour but they are a bit soggy. I found they didn't keep well either but if you eat them fast enough, they are very good.

Tomato-Topped Sole

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
My husband loved this recipe. He said it was the best fish he had ever tasted and would have paid top dollar for it at a restaurant. I didn't change anything in the recipe and served it with a garlic butter parmesan pasta. Excellent and EASY to make!
