Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
literally the best enchilada i have eaten to date! i wouldn't recommend changing anything but amount of servings because everyone will be heading back for more. the only things i added were lemon pepper and cumin. delicious!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
i have tried few chocolate cookie recipes but this has been the best so far (lets hope so because Christmas is upon us!) i tried two different batches----- one baking until slightly firm as one reviewer suggested and one till browned. i would recommend letting them brown to avoid a bready texture!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2014
what this soup was really lacking was flavor. by that i mean the base was bland. but on the upside the vegetables came out great with the seasonings in the recipe. i recommend using fresh dill and don't hesitate to add sour cream during the process of cooking as the recipe stated. it makes a huge improvement.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2014
Wow very easy dish and better than any previous Cajun recipes I have tried. The only thing I would tweak is adding more of the seasoning and adding a little bit of flour to the sauce and then setting it to a low flame so that it thickens.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2014
lets see, many problems for me in this dish. first off, the patties in general tasted bitter because of the onion soup. i don't know what it is about onion soup but i have yet to find a dish that have benefited from the interesting flavor. another problem i had was with mustard powder in the sauce. needless to say it ruined the whole dish.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
pretty good! the best turkey i have ever made. i forgot to buy thyme so i used marjoram which worked out very well! i also added mushrooms and chopped garlic to the inside of my bird. make sure to soak the turkey in brine over night for maximum flavor :)

Maria's Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
for my own version i just layered tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and the cheese filling on top pf the chicken to bake since cutting slits in the breasts wast exactly working out for me. i also took the advice of most reviewers and browned the sides of the chicken before putting it in the oven. the seasoning was composed of garlic powder, flour, pepper, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt which gave off the best aroma----like walking into an Olive Garden restaurant! the end product was very good and had everyone stuffed so thumbs up! great recipe.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2014
heres the deal----the chicken definitely needs some tweaking or it just turns into a bland piece of poultry (i would strongly suggest cutting the breast into bite sized pieces). however, the sauce was absolutely perfect in terms of flavor and so i decided to give this recipe 4 instead of 3 stars which it would have deserved otherwise.

Soul Smothered Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2014
I contemplated giving this four stars because I honestly didn't like the dish very much. Especially because of all the hassle for a mediocre dish. However, my family enjoyed it and said that it was like the filling of a chicken pot pie so I stretched for four stars. On a sidenote I used skinless chicken breast for the recipe and added freshly chopped garlic.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2014
good? yes! different from the many other recipes i have seen? no. and that's why i made a few of 'add in's' to make it different. 1. beef broth into the sauce 2. red chili flakes or siracha into the sauce 3.cook the meat on vegetable oil + chili oil

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2014
a dish enjoyed by the entire family but in need of some tweaks....the first thing i noted was that the sauce needed to be doubled or tripled. i also found that its better to use brown sugar instead of white because it shows up better in the flavor. and finally (this is just my opinion on what is correct) i would advise anyone who makes this dish to add in the sauce AFTER the chicken and vegetables have cooked through so that the sauce does not burn. serve with white or fried rice :D

Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
Better than any store bought coleslaw I have ever had. I enjoyed the sweetness and tardiness that came from the cider vinegar. Will definitely be making this fast and easy coleslaw instead of buying it from winco from now on.

Nana's Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
Good, but something was missing. It needed more of a beef flavor in my opinion and less of the tomato. I added a little bit of paprika to the sauce and extra sour cream. 3 stars for me and 5 stars from the rest of my family. Serve with coleslaw and mashed potatoes :)

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2014
This recipe was a hit for dinner tonight. However, I recommend either making your own sauce or improving the instant Alfredo sauce by adding grated parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic. It takes the meal to a whole new level.

Hot and Sour Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2014
hot and sour soup is always our family's favorite dish at a nearby restaurant called "Chinese Happiness." my dad and i always joked about kidnapping the cook and force him/her to make us the soup day and night. but thankfully that wasn't necessary since i found this awesome, amazing, and delicious recipe. few tweaks were made to this recipe because it was practically flawless. i do however recommend adding less egg and using siracha sauce for extra heat. plus more cornstarch as other reviewers commented to have a thicker soup. (after i realized that there was enough red wine vinegar but not enough cornstarch i whisked together slightly salted water and cornstarch.) it might take a long time to make but its so worth it!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2014
all in all the recipe was simple to make and enjoyable to eat with corn chips. i did however add a larger variety of vegetables and doubled the amount of liquids to make it more of a soup. add siracha sauce for more flavor!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2014
since i cant decide on what this recipe deserves i will award it 4 stars. i made it for my birthday and topped it with butter cream icing. maybe it would be five stars if i paired it with chocolate frosting.

Lola's Horchata

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
could be better with more milk because it was a little too watery. but i added a little bit of whip cream on top which made it better.

Maria's Mexican Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
since this was my first time making Mexican rice, I'd say it was a success. i only made a few minor changes including leaving out the water and adding more bouillon which was beef instead of chicken. can't wait for dinner tonight. we're having chicken and rice burritos with horchata!
