Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2014
good? yes! different from the many other recipes i have seen? no. and that's why i made a few of 'add in's' to make it different. 1. beef broth into the sauce 2. red chili flakes or siracha into the sauce 3.cook the meat on vegetable oil + chili oil

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2014
a dish enjoyed by the entire family but in need of some tweaks....the first thing i noted was that the sauce needed to be doubled or tripled. i also found that its better to use brown sugar instead of white because it shows up better in the flavor. and finally (this is just my opinion on what is correct) i would advise anyone who makes this dish to add in the sauce AFTER the chicken and vegetables have cooked through so that the sauce does not burn. serve with white or fried rice :D

Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
Better than any store bought coleslaw I have ever had. I enjoyed the sweetness and tardiness that came from the cider vinegar. Will definitely be making this fast and easy coleslaw instead of buying it from winco from now on.

Nana's Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
Good, but something was missing. It needed more of a beef flavor in my opinion and less of the tomato. I added a little bit of paprika to the sauce and extra sour cream. 3 stars for me and 5 stars from the rest of my family. Serve with coleslaw and mashed potatoes :)

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2014
This recipe was a hit for dinner tonight. However, I recommend either making your own sauce or improving the instant Alfredo sauce by adding grated parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic. It takes the meal to a whole new level.

Hot and Sour Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2014
hot and sour soup is always our family's favorite dish at a nearby restaurant called "Chinese Happiness." my dad and i always joked about kidnapping the cook and force him/her to make us the soup day and night. but thankfully that wasn't necessary since i found this awesome, amazing, and delicious recipe. few tweaks were made to this recipe because it was practically flawless. i do however recommend adding less egg and using siracha sauce for extra heat. plus more cornstarch as other reviewers commented to have a thicker soup. (after i realized that there was enough red wine vinegar but not enough cornstarch i whisked together slightly salted water and cornstarch.) it might take a long time to make but its so worth it!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2014
all in all the recipe was simple to make and enjoyable to eat with corn chips. i did however add a larger variety of vegetables and doubled the amount of liquids to make it more of a soup. add siracha sauce for more flavor!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2014
since i cant decide on what this recipe deserves i will award it 4 stars. i made it for my birthday and topped it with butter cream icing. maybe it would be five stars if i paired it with chocolate frosting.

Lola's Horchata

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
could be better with more milk because it was a little too watery. but i added a little bit of whip cream on top which made it better.

Maria's Mexican Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
since this was my first time making Mexican rice, I'd say it was a success. i only made a few minor changes including leaving out the water and adding more bouillon which was beef instead of chicken. can't wait for dinner tonight. we're having chicken and rice burritos with horchata!

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
restaurant quality flavor! i have no idea what people mean when they say its " too spicy." i thought it was perfect. it reminds of something i have eaten at red lobster. the only tweaks i made were adding more half and half and butter. otherwise, great recipe.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2014
i added more spices because it tasted a little bit bland and i added a couple cloves of garlic. i enjoyed it but my family has not tried the soup yet. their opinion will be the final verdict. word of advice do not listen to one reviewer that said to use less flower by half. the soup will not thicken.

Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2014
wonderful recipe! note to people who have yet to try this, looks can be deceiving because frankly this is likely to be one of the best stews you will eat. i added more vegetables than the recipe called for like corn, peas, carrots, and celery. i also added red pepper flakes and rosemary to spice it up a bit. the only thing i changed was the amount of beer in the recipe. i used about half less. will be making this again :) :) :)

i thought the pie turned out pretty well, but the taste was more like quiche. would make this again with a few tweaks.

Roasted Garlic Teriyaki Fried Rice with Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
I was surprised to see how good it was. And not only that but also really simple to make. I added in more vegetables like peas and spinach and added A LOT more sauce than the recipe called for. Next time id like to try it with fish or shrimp.

Fast and Delicious Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
Really good! Came out better than I expected, but I used kidney beans and pinto beans instead of black beans. (Didnt have black beans.) I also decide don't to blend all of it and instead blended about half of the vegetables and bouillon. I also added some Karachi to the pot in order to get a little kick.

Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
Ill admit that the sauce was delicious, but unfortunately almost none of the sauce ended up on the chicken by the time I took it out of the oven. No, the sauce wasn't watery. Also, the sauce burned while on the wings. Not sure what went wrong there :/. Next time I will change the recipe by putting the sauce on the wings AFTER they've cooked. (Tip: use brown sugar instead of splendor)

Real Poutine

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2014
actually, i give it a 3.5 rating. it was pretty good, but something felt missing. maybe for my own personal taste i would need to add meat to it. but i did like the way the gravy soaked into the fries and how the cheese melted. i used grated cheese instead of cheese curds.

Chilean Dobladitas

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2014
i made these for my Spanish class as extra credit. most if not all enjoyed them and dove in for seconds. i was surprised to see how good they were despite the little amount of ingredients. i would use a little more butter for extra flavor but other than that great recipe.
