Braseltouille - Meatatarian Ratatouille

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2014
LOVE this dish! We don't change a thing about it and it's a regular in our home. I recommend it as a gateway dish to introduce squash to your family or friends. It certainly got us to try more squash dishes!

Rosemary Roasted Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2014
For this recipe I followed it to the T minus fresh rosemary. I only had dried on hand and it still came out delicious! I've made this multiple times and look forward to bringing it to events so other people can try too.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Easy to put together and much tastier than the pre-made packets. My bf and I loved this with our burritos. I will definitely not be using the packets anymore!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Really easy and tasty dish, however I was expecting a stronger garlic flavor and was greeted with a heavy soy sauce taste. Will be reducing the soy sauce next time.

Romano Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Sooooo easy! This was delicious and the perfect easy meal to make after a stressful work week. I baked mine in the oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 min as recommended by other viewers. I plan to make these again for my roommates very soon.

Sweet Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I've edited this recipe with various herb-infused honeys. Lavender honey makes this butter AMAZING, especially to use in baking recipes. Rosemary honey makes this butter delightful with pancakes. Delicious on it's own merit and fantastic to play around with. Thanks so much!

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I also attempted these twice with pretty poor results. There must be a cooking tip somewhere not listed here that helps with making these cookies. I made sure to remove the cookies from the hot baking sheet immediately onto a cooling rack, but the first batch resulted in sheet-like (but edible) cookies, while I lowered the temperature and cooking time for the second batch and watched them bake. They didn't rise and became a giant sheet of chewy, greasy brittle. Glad I tried as I made the apple cinnamon granola myself and the leftover granola was a huge hit with my roommates, but I don't think I will attempt these cookies again.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
This is definitely worth another attempt, but overall it was what I was looking for. Be careful not to overcook! I found that even an extra 5 minutes makes the topping a bit hard and began to dry out the dish. Also I would NOT recommend blanching the peaches in order to peel them. However even with my user-error, the taste was right on the money!

Master Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Once I read and followed the correct instructions for the RapidRise yeast(accidentally followed the dry yeast instructions the first time lol) this crust turned out excellent! It's really easy to add in your own flavors while mixing the dough ingredients. I added some oregano, basil, and minced garlic for some extra flavor. The dough is crunchy on the outside but thick and soft on the inside. The aroma had my roommates hovering nearby. This will be a new staple for me!

Craving Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
These were really interesting and pretty yummy! The consistency is light and semi-spongy, different from normal cookies but overall very good. They made a great snack for hiking. These were super easy to make and brought me out of my cookie-disaster slump.

Pork Schnitzel with Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
This was my first time making schnitzel and it turned out pretty good! I didn't have panko bread crumbs so I used the Italian seasoned breadcrumbs that I had, which I think gave it a little kick in the flavor department too. The dill sauce tasted great and really made the dish. Very easy to make and will probably make again!

Dar's Super Savory Sauerkraut Potato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
This turned out delicious! The only thing I changed was that I used an extra-sharp cheddar cheese (just by preference, definitely not required). We looked forward to the leftovers of this side dish more than the main meal XD. Will definitely be making this again and hope to have an opportunity to bring this to a potluck to show off.

Jalapeno-Garlic-Onion Cheeseburgers

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
These were pretty good. Quick and easy with lots of kick, but needs something more to give it more flavor. I added some chili powder and cumin to give it some more interesting flavors, but it still needs something else that I just can't put my finger on. Also highly recommend adding an egg to keep the burgers together. Might make again.

Simple Buttermilk Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
I used this recipe as a base then added my own flair to it. I replaced the butter with a honey butter recipe using lavender honey, which made this coffee cake to DIE for! Not to mention makes the crumb topping even more delicious. Great recipe overall and will definitely be making again!

D' Best Chicken N' Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
I loooooove the Cracker Barrel style Chicken n Dumplings and this recipe delivers just what I wanted. In order to shorten the cooking time and avoid a bony broth, I pre-cooked some chicken breasts that I dry-rubbed with the seasoning salt, cut them up and put them in the broth to cook for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately I did not roll out the dumpling dough thin enough and they didn't cook through, which just made them taste floury. My mistake! I slowly added handfuls of flour to the broth to thicken it up a bit and upped the amount of pepper for some extra zest. They were delicious! Planning on making this again very soon!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
This was absolutely delicious! Exactly what I was looking for. I made the recipe exactly as-is with 80% lean ground beef and it turned out fabulous. Next time I will try doubling the sauce but this recipe is great. We had to fight over leftovers! XD

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
This turned out great! The deli didn't have sweet sausage so I used spicy and didn't edit any of the other ingredients. It turned out super spicy with a kick! The bf and I liked it a lot. Will definitely try again with the recommendations to up the vodka and cream content. Overall very good!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2013
This served as a great base recipe! I can see why some might call for less salt, it depends on whether you are looking for a sweet pancake or a savory, buttery pancake. I took advice from other reviews and cut the salt to 3/4 tsp and added a tsp of vanilla since I was looking to use leftovers from a muffin recipe to make sweet cinnamon and walnut pancakes. They turned out nice and fluffy! I don't ever want to go back to out-of-the box mixes ever again.
