Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
This is the best cream cheese frosting I have ever tasted! I didn't change one thing about the recipe, and it came out perfect. Great cream cheese taste, perfect consistency for spreading on a cake, and not too sweet. It was so good I was tempted to eat the leftover frosting right out of the bowl after I finished icing my cake.

Balsamic Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
My family didn't like this at all. I was expecting a thick, cream sauce and this was definitely not thick or creamy. The only change I made was to cut the chicken bouillon amount in half. We've never had balsamic vinegar, so I thought maybe it's an acquired taste. But my sister-in-law who loves balsamic vinegar wasn't a fan, either. She said the texture was weird and she couldn't really taste the vinegar.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
I made this last night, and it was great! The only change I made was to use chicken broth instead of white wine. I've tried several different sauce recipes, but haven't found a really good one until now. My husband said this one was the best I've made!

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
I made this recipe last night, and it was a big hit! I doubled the recipe, and found that I used more flour than the recipe called for because the dough was so sticky. My gnocchi came out like little dumplings, but I'm guessing I used too much flour since everyone else seems to be commenting that they used LESS flour. They were still delicious. Next time, I'll try to use less flour and I'll definitely triple or quadruple the recipe so I can freeze the extras. We had them with a marinara sauce this time. Can't wait to try them with a cream sauce!

Spanish Potato Omelet

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
This was a really quick and easy recipe, and I liked that the ingredients are things I always have on hand. I used a little less oil and onions, and seasoned the potatoes with Adobo. And I left out the tomatoes and green onions. I ended up making a 2nd batch right away because my family enjoyed the first batch so much and wanted more.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
This soup is amazing! I used a little less onion, a little more potato, and 1/2 tsp of basil instead of 1 tsp. I made one batch that was gone within half an hour, and my family complained that I hadn't made more. The next night, I made a double batch (using olive oil as I had ditched the rest of the bacon grease from the night before). Still delicious! My family raved about it. This is going right into my recipe box.

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly, and thought it turned out great. It kind of reminded me of spice cake mixed with a soft granola bar. My husband liked it, but he said he'd prefer it with more fruit next time. I'll definitely be making this again.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
This cheesecake is awesome! I've been making it for a few years now. I am constantly asked to make it for family functions, and actually have to make it today for a function tomorrow. I follow the directions exactly. My cheesecake always cracks in the center, but it doesn't matter to me because I always top it with cherry pie filling. I will try some of the tips other people have suggested, though, such as not overbeating it and greasing the sides of the springform pan.

Grandpa Hubbard's Oatmeal

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Great taste! Chewy and yummy! Definitely tastes like something you'd get at your grandparents' house. :o) I only had quick oats, so I cooked them according to the directions on the package. And I didn't have creamer, so I used milk, but I thought 1/4 cup of milk per bowl made it a little too soupy. Next time I'll use less milk as I like my oatmeal to be thicker.

Fabulous Fajitas

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
These fajitas are awesome! I left out the mushroom and red peppers because my family doesn't like them. My husband was skeptical, and wondered why I didn't use fajita seasoning. But this recipe won him over. There were NO leftovers!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2004
I followed the advice of some of the other reviewers: used chicken broth instead of water, added 1 cup of diced potatoes, and poultry seasoning. And it was absolutely delicious! My husband took one bite and said: This is a keeper! And he then proceeded to eat about half the pie lol.
