About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was about 7 years old, ever since I turned my first batch of scrambled eggs for mothers day. Im always on the lookout for new recipes, and like to stray from the tried & true methods.
My favorite things to cook
Apple Crisp, Pies and Cake are my dessert specialties. I'm expanding my dessert repetoire as much as I can on a young-adult salary. I also love making Turkey, different kinds of yeastless breads, cookies and pork chops (a favourite of friends and family), and Greek Honey Cake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Kritoschti and kolach are old family recipes from Romania. They've been passed down for 5 generations, and these recipes will NEVER be shared!!
My cooking triumphs
My very fist Christmas Turkey dinner. I made 2 turkeys, 3 different kinds of stuffing, a pile of mashed potatoes, biscuts, and all the other trimmings when I was 16 years old!
My cooking tragedies
My first valentines day with my boyfriend. The recipe said add coffee, and I wasnt thinking... I added coffee grounds to a chocolate mousse dessert instead of actual brewed coffee. I ended up running out to the grocery store to pick up angel food cake instead!

Lazy Daisy Cake
great, simple cake. I didnt use the icing because we dont like coconut, instead served with a dollop of yogurt. Got rave reviews, thanks for sharing!!

Empire Cookies
I made these a couple days in advance for a party we were having over the holidays. These cookies did not see that party, as everyone ATE THEM as soon as they were done. Fantastic recipe, although I wish there were some way to drizzle the icing so it doesnt drip off the cookies so much.

Buttercream Frosting
Wonderful recipe. I added a little more confectioners sugar to stiffen it up a bit, and a little more vanilla extract, and it turned out just perfectly.
